Hi!

I'm new...and you all are so knowledgeable! Do you know if michael b's crown lace can be taken down from a size 5 to a 4.25 or 4.5? I realize the symmetry of the lace spacing may be compromised but I am willing to accept that for a better fit. Would the designer do this? I am afraid to ask him...it seems sacreligious! Thank you all!

a while back pearlmans had a lace on their consignment section. I asked Bill about the sizing and if I remember correctly he said it could go down a half size. I'd email Matthew at Michealbjewelry.com for the definitive answer.

It is relatively easy to insrt a pad of metal inside most rings to change them even more than 1 size down.  This eliminates the need to cut out part of a pattern.  Of course, it the lacework is delicate, the pad needs to be carefully trimmed so it won't show.  It may cost a bit more to do a sizing by this technique, but it works nicely for many items.

Thank you both! I hadn't thought of building up the bottom of the ring, but that is an excellent idea!
