I thought I'd start us a thread. 3-stone rings seem to be a bit less 'popular' than the large door-knocker solitaires (though there's nothing wrong with those, either!!)...so I thought maybe some of you would enjoy playing in this sandbox with me...

Here is mine....it currently resides on my engagement finger, as my sapphire engagement ring from 21 years ago is lost....until we get another one made up, this one was given to my by my Sweetie to keep my ring finger warm.

2ct RB centre, 2 x 1/2 ct RB sides. All 3 are H in colour, VS1 (centre stone) VS2 (side stones) White gold head, yellow gold shank (my wedding ring is yellow, so this gives me a few options).

(When I lost my sapphire, I also lost my RH ring which was my wedding gift: a 5-stone 2ctw eternity ring - so I guess this 3-stone is a replacement for that one!).

The hope is to travel to M. Khordipour with pics of my sapphire to have a new one made up. Then I shall feel complete.

Gotta love it. I think I've finally figured out the macro setting on my camera, so maybe I can upload some pics.

Yes siree, serious finger coverage. Though why, oh why, do handshots make our hands look fat and pudgy?

ETA: wrinkly too....though I have earned them the past 2 weeks cooking for the multitudes.

Great idea LostSapphire! Here is my three stone sapphire and diamond ring. All three cuts are emerald, and the center stone is .92ct, and the diamonds are D colour .47ct and F colour .49ct. My finger size it 5.75.

OH I am a sucker for Sapphires! I have looked at your pictures and drooled.

Ever since receiving my 3-stone ring, I have been REALLY missing my original sapphire....that trip to M. Khordipour may have to happen sooner than later.

Not, of course, that I'd give back the new ring...just switch it over to my right hand.

Oh my goodness. Such beautiful filigree work and engraving.

It reminds me of a ring my Grandmother had. So elegant and classic.

Beautiful setting LSU fan! King Cakes are the traditional cakes of the Mardi Gras. There is a history to them, but they are sort of like a big donut-shaped, twisted coffee cake with purple, yellow, & green frosting, different fillings and a little plastic baby hidden inside....

I know what you mean, LSU Fan...how come my hands are so (in my mind...) lovely, but the camera somehow makes them shorter, pudgier and HAIRIER than I seem to think?? Must be something to do with the macro setting on the camera or something!

KellyFish: thanks for the explanation...sounds yummy. But what do you mean by "a baby" inside?

Thank you Kellyfish!
You explained it short and sweet. I live in Louisiana. I was trying to think of a short answer, but couldn't get my thoughts together. If anyone wants to know in more detail of the history of King Cakes and Mardi Gras, you can do a google search for king cake history. This is the season for Mardi Gras around here. King Cakes are yummy, the basic is sort of a soft cinnamon roll and they can be filled with blueberry/cream cheese, or strawberry/cream cheese etc.......Now I hungry!

Thank you! I was hoping to achieve the look of an antiquish style ring.

BTW, I love your ring, so much bling and sparkle!

What lovely rings you ladies have !  I love three stone rings, and here is mine that I got for our tenth anniversary last May.  The center stone is .51 F VS2 and the sides are .27 each F VS2.  We are fortunate to have a good friend that is a jeweler so he got the stones for us and put the ring together.  The setting is 14K white gold.  Oh, my finger is a 5.
