Hi Everyone! I absolutely love this site, you are all so informative, helpful and supportive!! I recently changed our whole wedding around - from a huge over-the-top Columbus, Ohio event to on the beach in Marco Island, FL. It was what we really wanted, and we couldn't be any happier about it!!! Anyway, I'm down in Marco right now, and we're meeting with the florist tomorrow. Our ceremony is going to be on the beach, with the cocktail hour and reception up on a beautiful terrace overlooking the beach (the hotel is the marco beach ocean resort - www.marcoresort.com ) What I would LOVE to hear from you guys is any ideas for beach-themed weddings. We are going to write our table assignments on sand dollars, and our invitations have starfish attached to them (see www.myspersonalartist.com - she's incredible!). I want to have really unique centerpieces and decorations, so any advice or links you can give me is GREATLY appreciated! Also - I'm in the process of picking out bridesmaid dresses (I'm so bad at it - I want everyone to be happy, and with 7 bridesmaids, it's tough!) and I'd like to pick an off-the-rack dress. I found a gorgeous Nicole Miller at Nordstrom, but I'm open to any other suggestions you guys might have! Is this too much info? I don't know, I'm jsut so excited and overwhelmed and everything else that goes along with it! We spent 6 months planning the Ohio wedding, and just switched (AND moved our wedding date up 2 months...to April 19 since I love April in Marco!) Thanks in advance for any info you can give me!! WOW! Good for you for doing what you truly want...... and IKES. You have balls as big as church bells! To not only move the wedding up, but to change the location... to a destination no less!!! Ha! Actually I think it's awesome but can't imagine all the craziness you have ahead! Your wedding/reception site looks AMAZING!!! As far as ideas go..... you should page Harleigh on this board. She is having a destination wedding in Hawaii and has the most unique, creative ideas for her wedding. For her invitations she put "boxes" together..... invite, lei, flip flops, sunscreen... just to name a few. (and forgive me can't remember exactly what it was she included.) It was so adorable.
