I know this has probably been covered before, but I was wondering when is the best time of year to buy a diamond. (Best prices and selection). I had heard in the past, that February 15 was when prices started to come down from the rise over the holiday/valentine period. Also, there is a lot greater selection since there are less potential buyers. What kind of price drop will there be after February? And is there a best time of year/season to buy?

Thanks for your help.

If you are looking into a decent quality Diamond..., (in my opinion) dont expect any price drop for the near future..., on the contrary!

If you're buying over the internet with slim margins, then I agree with DG. If you're buying from a local store from stock, you might see more flexibility in the Jul-Aug timeframe than Dec-Feb. But in general the best time to buy is when you've found the right piece for you, regardless of season.
