Symmetry & polish good
Strong blue flourescence
Baguettes are 9 points each, F color, SI1 clarity

7.09 x 4.91 x 4.96 mm
20 tapered baguettes total weight 2.50 carats, G color 4.63 x 2.25 x 1.2mm

Natural Burmese ruby also 1.35 carats 7.10 x 5.40 x 4.03 mm

The iPhone is unkind to colored stones.

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

Thanks again, everyone, for the kind words.  My apologies for the poor quality of the pictures - I'm sure it isn't the camera's fault.

On the first day of Christmas my true love brought to me:  an emerald in a pear treee
On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me:  a ruby in a pear treeee
On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me:  two pear rings, one emerald with baguettes, and a ruby in a pear treeeeeeeee.

Great collection, Madame bijoux....yummy!  Thank you for being the inspiration for my terrible version of a well-loved Christmas carol.  LOL!

Seriously, though...those beauties deserve to have wonderful pics of them taken...have you a digital camera that could do them justice or a friend who'd be willing to do a quick photo shoot so we all can see the beauty of these rings in up close and personal detail?   Please????

Thanks again, everyone!  I'm still working on the 35mm slides of everything.  I should be finished after 1 more roll of film.  (This doesn't say much for me:  photography has been one of my hobbies for the last 32 years, but I can't take a decent picture with an iPhone.)

Wow, Madam B, your collection is really amazing! The pinky pear is my favorite as well! The l/w ratio is sooooo nice! And the baguettes are perfectly tiny! YUM!

Your colored stones are gorgeous as well! I especially love the emerald. I hope you keep snapping pics for us with the iPhone-I love seeing your jewelry no matter what the pics look like!
