I have been lurking around this forum for sometime and was referred to the natural sapphire company from other people's posts. I really enjoy looking at their sapphires. I found one that I like too, but I am not certain whether it is a good price or whether it is a good stone. If someone can give me an idea that would be great. Thanks in advance.

I am sorry but the cut is hideous.  The colour is very pretty but the stone has a sizeable window, the pavilion is lumpy, and the crown looks to be uneven as well.  Just too yucky for my taste.

I love Pads, but that window is awful. Ditto on everything that Chrono said.

Thank you very much for your opinion. I often see the word "window" here in PSF. Is that the black thing or the whitish pink in the center of the stone? I have never seen the wold "window" used to describe a diamond's cutting.

Linda W., is your stone a pad. sapphire? It is a very beautiful stone.

Thank you lovegem. Yes that is a Pad. I have a few pads, and that one is my favorite. I purchased it from the natural sapphire company 2 years ago. It is 2.25

Lovegem,

The window is the center part of the gemstone that you can see straight through, like the pad you were looking at.

Medium sized window in the stone below.

Large window in the stone below.
