As you know my family's had a trying year. What I didn't mention is that this year is my parent's 50th anniversary. Last night my dad had the three grandkids come in while romantic hawaiian music was playing. the first gave her an anniversary ring, the second gave her plane tickets to hawaii and the third put a lei on her head and then my dad explained it was for the honeymoon they could never afford to take. then my brother-in-law came in and passed out hawaiian drinks and we had a mini lieu(sp?) in our living room. they'll be spending 9 days over valentine's day in hawaii in a suite with an ocean front view and the beach right in front of their balcony. how sweet :) just thought you ladies might like to hear the story! ...side note: party at my parent's over valentine's day! haha jk

That's so great! I'm sure they'll be glad to leave the frozen tundra in the dead of a midwest winter.  Such a sweet story, and I hope your mom is feeling good this Christmas.

lol exactly :) i asked my mom to bring me back a new hula girl candle bc i broke mine when she and i went together how else will i get one though! lol my SO said that after we get married he will take me to hawaii 50 years later too but i said no i want to go right now! haha "It's so great to find that one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life." ~Rita Rudner I marry my best friend on 11/14/09! |
