Cute topic,

Alexis: the leisure wear sounds great!
doxielover: Stop talking about those earrings and start snapping pictures.  I hope to see YOU over in SMTR!

Yeah for gift giving this time of year.

DH is away so I haven't opened anything yet, but [Eeek, squeeks like a little piggie in delight!] I cannot wait!

ETA:  Re giving, DH and I use wishlists so we know what we are getting.  A silly present I bought him is the new fruit and nut toblerone.  You can clearly see what it is from the shape but he didn't 'try' to guess what it was last night.  Bless his cotton socks.

My favourite gift was from the BF :) he completely surprised me and got me a TOMTOM :) hehehe it also comes with a cute Irish accent :) overall it was a great haul :) and BF got some stuff for his car he was coveting :)

For the parental's we gave out digital photoframe and some TV headphones the ones that allow you to have the volume up loud without annoying the neighbors, everyone seemed happy.

Alexis: hail the trackie daks :) a good and comfortable pair are like heaven
Doxie: YAY for sparklies and a straightener now for piccies
Steel: Wishlists are awesome and so are toblerone's they are soooo good :) I don't think I have seen the fruit and nut one yet sounds yum though

My dad is taking the family on a trip to NY in January so that's my main present. My parents also gave me some dollars, and D got me the life on Mammals on dvd and he's buying me a pair of Manolos in NY. Then the usual socks, lingerie and bridal magazines. I love them all! Hope everyone has a great day!

Nope In Australia (mind you the Aussie accent was horrendous) I went through all the English speaking accents and Sean the Irish guy really spoke to me :P

There is something so endearing about the Irish accent :)

Uh.. my ex husband gave me a bunch of framed photos of my children. (Weird)

My mil sent a DKNY bag, some perfume and a chatham sapphire earrings & pendant set. My DH gave me a gift card for SHOES! We bought a bed earlier in the month so that was our gift to each other.

I love Christmas but it was more fun watching the kids open what they received..

It is always that way for me.

As I previously posted, I opted to forgo presents, so that, that money could be put in a future jewelry purchase I'm working on (which btw, I had a ureka moment earlier, and am done with the design, I think)

Anywho, my boys gave me two pairs of flannel jammies, which I asked for. One of the pairs is soooooooooooooo soft, I've never felt flannel like this. I cannot get over it. I can't wait to wear them, it's going to be heaven.

"It is also important for the State to inculcate in its subjects an aversion to any 'conspiracy theory of history' for a search for 'conspiracies' means a search for motives and an attribution of responsibility for historical misdeeds."

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."
