Hi, ladies,

So now that I'm on the hunt for a new dress I think I'm going to go to Priscilla of Boston and buy my dream dress, the Dora, or another of MS's gorgeous gowns.

Anyone care to share what they paid for their Melissa Sweet gown? If you find this question rude, by all means abstain. I'm just looking for some information, and I can't seem to find any price information on the Internet. Also, do you know if POB has sample sales periodically, or just once a year?

I'm really kicking myself because Priscilla of Boston had a sample sale a few weeks ago and I made an appointment but cancelled it at the last minute becuase I didn't want to end up with two dresses. HA! Little did I know that I'd have ZERO dresses just a week later.

Thanks, ladies! And don't worry, I'll post those pictures once I get them!

I believe her dresses go anywhere from about $1500 on up (but could be more). And I think the Dora is in the $3500-4000 range if I remember correctly...

I heard they can range from $3300 and up. You can look at preownedweddingdresses.com and see the Melissa Sweet gowns that are being sold there. Most of the times the Brides say how much the gown was originally purchased for. If all else fails there's always ebay selling Melissa Sweet gown. Good luck on your new gown!

Thank you for the info, ladies! Now I know what I'm in for . . .

I might have to choose between a 2.58 ct eternity band for my wedding ring or the Dora. Now I REALLY wish I had kept that appointment for the sample sale! (NOT a bad decision to have to make, I know!)

I noticed that the POB in NY is having a MS trunk show this weekend, maybe you could head down there? What would be perfect is if you could call them and buy it during the trunk show, thus getting 10% - 15% off the price of the gown, plus because they'd be shipping it, you wouldn't have to pay any sales tax. I don't know if they do that for trunk shows, though.

My friend bought her MS dress from the POB here in Boston and though the dress she bought was not a part of the trunk show, they still gave her 15% off, but I don't know if they do that at all POBs.

NewEnglandLady--GREAT idea, thank you! I'm going to try the dress on again just to make sure and then I will find the next trunk show and try out your idea! Love it!

Just had to reply when I saw a Melissa Sweet post!! My Nicolette was approx. $3500 from the PoB here in Philly (Wynnewood). I can't remember the exact cost... I think I blocked it out , but I know it's posted here on Pricescope somewhere!

If I had to choose between a dress and an eternity band, I'd probably go with the band... just because you'll get so much more use out of a ring. That said, I ADORED my dress. The fabric was insanely beautiful and I knew it was the only time in my life I'd be wearing something that special, so I gave in to the urge! Way more than I thought I'd spend, but no regrets (probably helped that my parents were buying, and I knew they loved it too).

I'm wearing the Nicolette to my Spring '09 wedding. What bridesmaids dress did you go with?

Sorry to threadjack too but does anyone know how much Georgina costs?  Or I guess do they still sell it at POB?

Ohhh I loved Georgina at one time...till I discovered Dora.

full price Georgina hurts....$5200

check ebay, there is a seller on there who had one that's been for sale for a while, but I haven't checked in a while so it might have sold...but I think he wanted $2800....I say he because I dealt with him a little when I was trying to get Dora from him, he owns a bridal shop in Orange County.

good luck!!
