I was picking up some Christmas gifts for DD at the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nasha today and I noticed big 50% off signs all over the place. As it turns out [If you know me you know I had to go in and ask!] they are closing the store and are building a big free standing one on DW Highway that will open for next Christmas [looks like they are following the retail model they are using in Burlington and Natick - it will probably help them compete with Barmakian, too]. They are doing the same in the Newington, NH store.

In any case, all the goods are 40 - 60% off. Much of the stuff is commercial grade [they brought it in from other stores specifically for the sale - I asked] but some of the stuff is good. They have some Scott Kay sterling and Judith Ripka on sale. They have some very nice pearls at 50% off. There are lots of SI goods of varying color [I saw up to E]. They also have some cool earrings and bracelets. They also have some Herend porcelain pieces available and those are NEVER on sale [where's that drool icon - I collect that stuff!!]. I'm going to trot on down after Christmas to see what I can cherry pick.

Figured I'd let you local girls know! They expect to close on 1/6/08.

Cool, thanks for the alert!  I had thought the chain as a whole was closing, so this is a surprise to me.  The one in Burlington is nice and I've often found pieces I really like.  Maybe I'll check it out on the way to Newburyport next Saturday.

I don't think so. They just opened their big fancy store in Natick when the mall was expanded with all the high end stores. I think the gala was in Sept.

i got something in the mail about this, and it indicated what you found out DiamanteBlu - that they are closing this one store in favor of opening a standalone. i often had to travel to the burlington or natick store to view a wider selection of designers, as nashua did not carry many of the ones that interested me most (ritani, chris correia). hopefully the new store will have more options and eye candy for us!!

BTW, are there any RI/MA/NH brides joining us that are still in the planning stages? I have a killer referral for an event designer. I'll tell you about him when I see you if you are interested.

OK ladies, y'all are going to have to have a GTG next time I have to come visit my in-laws, who live about 10 minutes from there. I go stir-crazy every time I visit them and I think some bling-sharing would help relieve my in-law-induced craziness

Diamante - we (DH and I) often escape to the Pheasant Lane Mall when we are there visiting and need to get out on our own, but when we saw that horrible pet store there it made us both so mad All those poor puppies from puppy mills and the poor ignorant people who don't know any better who will buy them and end up with what is probably going to be a very sick puppy or dog, or at the very least a dog that isn't anything like what its breed is supposed to be like. It made us both so upset we were thinking about trying to stage some sort of protest but we settled on writing letters once we got home. Those places just make me steam - I'm so glad there aren't any near where I am

I go there rarely. What pet store? It's probably a good thing that I don't know anything about it. I go to Cache, Victoria's Secret, Aldo, stroll by Long's, Crabtree, that NY store and that's about it. [I tend to go to Copley Place, Chestnut Hill, Natick, and Burlington [on occasion] or Newbury St.].

Its called Debbie's Petland. There are all kinds of horrible things about it all over the web as well.

I'm with you - I wouldn't go there except that its kind of the only thing within a reasonable difference from my in-laws when we need to escape for a little while.

I am personally a HUGE fan of Newbury St - I still go to my hairstylist there every chance I get because I haven't found anyone to equal him on the West Coast. I could happily spend hours wandering there with DH (we love the little Vietnamese restaurant there), but the in-laws really aren't so into it unfortunately...

AG -
Let us know next time you are in town. We can go have some wine at Michael Timothy's. I'm always up for that and I'm sure the others would be too!

Blu - I'll do that. I know we'll be in Providence, RI for a friend's wedding in June but don't know if we'll make it up to visit the IL's or not. I'll for sure post about a GTG if it looks like we will make it up there though...
