First off, I am far from an expert on jewelry, and I should have done some more research, but it looks like I'll be closing the deal on an engagement ring tomorrow. I'm wondering, the significant other likes the Martin Flyer 3 stone setup. With the two sidestone being either .25 or I think .30 (.33?), will a .75 center stone be too small looking? Dare I even go a little smaller, or would that look ridiculous as well? I really don't want to spend more than about $5k.

I am not familiar with the setting that you are looking at, but I have a 3 stone with a .51 center and .27 on each side, and it does not look ridiculous.
