By Marc Jacobs... one of those annoying women in Macy's threw one of those little carboardy things in my face.. DO YOU WANT TO SMELL THIS????? Well, I wasn't going to.. but stopped and decided why not? I love it. I'm SO GLAD I did. So, I handed the card to my husband and said.. Marc Jacobs.. remember the name. LOL ![]() The scent is clean and fresh and not overwhelming. I normally wear Design, but oh, this is just lovely and light :) ![]() ![]() |

Is that the new Daisy one, am I right in thinking that is a Marc Jacobs...? I hope you find a BIG BOTTLE in your Christmas stocking!

Oooh, well I'm glad to hear someone loves it...I was on another forum (I know, sometimes I cheat on PS) and someone said they hated the way "Daisy" smelled. But I LOVE Marc Jacobs and I thought the sample I smelled when it first came out was divine...I will have to put it on my Christmas list now, hee hee. Thanks for your input, SDL!

Daisy is amazing. At Nordstrom the other day they were engraving bottles for free and it was one of them but I own it already. He wanted it to smell the way he envisioned a daisy smelling. I just adore it.

Be sure you say daisy...because Marc Jacobs is the little square clear bottle with the little black dress bow...you know the tiny little accent black bow? I have that one. Gardenia...I lurve it. Daisy is yellow right? You can say yellow. I would hate for Marc Jacobs to show up in your knee high...when you wanted a daisy. §

I also have the original mark and love that one as well, but it does pay to be specific with the men folk. the bottle is quite distinct and has a couple of leather daisy petals on it.

I love both the original (which I wear now) and the Essence by him. Haven't tried the Daisy. But if you love these... have you tried Michael Kors perfume? It's my favorite... I can't wait to get another bottle!

My SIL wears Sung...it is so fabulous on her. On me...not so much. Have you tried that SDL? I do Marc Jacobs and ISSEY MIYAKE. I really like the gardenia and white peony...and lilly. Bvlgari has some great florals too...Jasmine and Rose...and something else that is right in line with the Daisy aroma. I would like to get it...I just don't know how to pronouce the name...BVlgari...huh? We don't toss the letter V around lightly...how are you supposed to pronouce it after the letter B? I agree with Gyp...Michael I think is what she was referring to...is great! Well I hope you get your daisy!! That was my Grandmothers name. Awh. §

Oh, thank you thank you for posting this--I had completely forgotten that I wanted to pick up some perfume for myself on this visit to the US since I ran out months ago and weeped at the prices of the stuff in the UK! *spends hours at Sephora's website, getting ready to invade*

DKS, it is pronounced Bulgari. The V is Roman for U I think. I tried the new Hermes Kelly Caleche and it was vile on me, as was the newest Prada. Smells so good on others though. I like Marc Jacobs original and Daisy and Michael Kors too. There are a lot of fragrances I like. **************************** |

I love love LOVE daisy! It was on my Christmas list but we are not spending on each other this year...so I guess it will have to wait. Sidebar: Does anyone have any trouble with perfumes NOT smelling like they do in the bottle once you spray them on yourselves (I mean like nothing even close)? I thought she was jerking me around because we were trying on billions of perfumes and she'd say "ooh that's nice" and then try it on and say "ew, that's awful." I was tempted to find one she hated, spray it on her and find the perfume of her dreams (maybe), but our noses gave up and we ran out of places to spritz so we just left.

You know how people enjoy how other people smell with different scents? ... well I love the way I smell with Michael Kors. I like it more for night wear or special occasions though because it makes me feel spicy ... much too exciting for work everyday. As an everyday perfume, I adore Paris by Yves St Laurent ... I know it's not new on the market but it smells so wonderful and it was the perfume I was wearing when I first met my bf.

I thought you might be interested ... if you get Daisy in your stocking, you might want to double your pleasure by putting some Marc Jacobs for men in your husband's stocking. Men, or at least my man, smell absolutely delicious in that scent. It is perfection in a bottle. I know I'm a weirdo but I can't help but sniff him or actually inhale him when he wears it b/c it smells so fantastic! Try it and let me know what you think. Your body chemistry absolutely impacts the natural extracts in the scent. That is why a perfume can smell great in the bottle or on someone else and not smell so great on you. After I had my oldest son my all time favorite perfume smelled terrible on me, and I thought it was rancid. So I went to try it on again at Saks and it smelled terrible again. The SA told me that your chemistry can change. I was so upset til I found some new things that I like on me.

My body chemistry does wonky things to some perfumes too.

Diamondfan, I totally agree with you. That happened to me when I tried to revisit a perfume after I had my first daughter. I actually got dizzy. It's hard for me to find perfumes. I'm so picky about them. Also, I love niche perfumes so that makes it harder to try new ones regularly. I admit I am something of a perfumista.

Just came back from Chicago! I have to admit an obsession with make up and fragrance etc. I have no single scent that I like, and I like things at different times, like the lighter Opium is my evening scent, and I like fresh and citrusy more in the summer. I am not wedded to one certain fragrance at all, and really rotate them around. I do like soft and powdery scents, some of the heavier stuff is tough for me, but there are some I can wear nicely. **************************** |

Daisy by MJ is really pretty...almost chose it as my "wedding day perfume" but its kind of springy-smelling (to me), so I went with a Jo Malone combo instead. I definitely want to get Daisy though eventually.... I am like Diamondfan, I change my perfumes all the time depending on the weather, my mood, what I am wearing, etc. Diamondfan- I went to the "crack den" LOL aka Sephora the other day and got the LM tinted moisturized- so nice! Just like we said, you cant go into Sephora and just get one thing, I ended up also getting one of her new eyeshadow quads (really pretty colors) and one of the Philosophy body gels/shampoo/bubble bath combos in the scent "cinnamon buns." Mmmm- smells so good!!! So, the guess in the grand scheme of things I didnt go too nuts.....but I was only in there literally 5 mins!!!! ![]()

Just got back from Sephora! I liked Daisy a lot too, but the two that ended up duking it out for my dinero were Eau de Cartier and Light Blue by D&G. Went with D&G, but I reeeeeally liked the Cartier as well, so I might have to go back and get that as well...even though I feel guilty for buying myself something at Christmastime. Hey, girls, I will NEVER be the one to say DON'T treat yourself! Life is short. It is nice to be good to yourself. I love light blue, it is so pretty. Enjoy it! Dani, I swear, I have a disease when I am in Sephora. I can spend $500.00 in a flash, and have spent more, and it is in this tiny basket. I get it home and jam it in with my tons of other crap. I toss out more for being rancid than I actually use, but I do love it so much. It is just too much fun to make up shop, and no undressing required, which is great in the winter here when I have no desire to peel off many layers in a cold store dressing room! SDL, I was out near Northwestern. Ice storms stink, power lines go down if there is too much on them, and driving and walking are super dangerous. Hopefully, Chi town is pretty versed in dealing and keeps roads and sideswalks clean and treated. If it is really bad, no one is going out anyway. Tell your son to always have food in the pantry which as a culinary student he should anyway! Then if he gets stuck home for a couple of days he will not starve! It is a great city, but crap weather in winter is a part of it for sure. **************************** |

I was just at the mall and had to smell Daisy again (first off before I was on scent overload). I had thought I had liked it... now I'm sure, I do. I think it will be a good replacement for me since I have been dying to find something "kinda similar in a way close enough" to Alfred Sung Shi which does not stay on me at all. I thought Gucci Envy Me would be a replacement, but that doesn't stay on me either. So... now to try Daisy... I hope it works... it's really lovely.

I like Daisy a lot. I've been wearing it since October. My only complaint though is that it doesn't last very long on me. After only a couple of hours, it's gone...
