OK, I did a search for this and only 1 thread came up so I'm starting my own. I was considering using "Bittersweet Symphony" by the Verve as my aisle walk song, but I can't find an instrumental version of it anywhere. The intro is instrumental and is about 38 seconds, so I don't know if that's long enough. Does anyone have any suggestions? I won't be devastated if it doesn't work, because I have 2 other choices and I haven't even settled on which are my favorites. I want to use modern, untraditional music. My other top picks are the instrumental version of Lovestoned by Justin Timberlake (the part I would use starts at 4:55 into the song and goes to the end) or I'm also considering the instrumental of One Republic's song Too late to Apologize. I realize that when you listen to the lyrics of all 3 of these songs that they don't seem wedding-y AT ALL! But the instrumentals are so pretty.

Not sure if you have itunes, but there is an instrumental version if you do a search. The album is Easy Instrumental Hits, Vol. 57 (Karaoke version), so perhaps you could find that album on Amazon or something. Hope that helps! Great song choice!

I've always loved the instrumental version of The Verve's Bittersweet Symphony and I think that 38 seconds is plenty of time for you to walk--actually, I like all of the ideas that you're considering, but I think The Verve is my favorite.

search through itunes. There are several versions ranging from lounge jazz, to hiphop to house remixes. Im sure you can find a version that suits your wedding.

oh wow what a great choice Bri! I think Bittersweet Symphony is great for the ceremony. I haven't listened to any of the versions on iTunes. I clicked on the link that Stephanie gave. Who is walking you down the aisle? I think if I were walking by myself, that version from Stephanie would be great. Or it could be excellent for the bridesmaids. If I were walking with my parents (which I will be) I would look for a less percussion-y version. I'm looking for jazzy pieces for our ceremony. I bet the jazz version of Bittersweet Symphony sounds great! BriBee, are you having musicians play it?

Thanks for all the great ideas. I don't actually own an iPod but FI does and so I know we have iTunes on one of our computers. I'm not having live musicians so I'll have to find a good recorded version. Thanks again! This is why I love PS, I can always find help and answers!

I found this quote on this site I'm looking for an instrumental version of Bittersweet Symphony for my wedding, do you know where I can get one? "- As far as I know they never released one. Your best bet is to try and track down the original Rolling Stones track that Verve used to make BSS. Remember that it's an Andrew Loog Oldham instrumental version of 'The Last Time'. I got an email from lantier@noos.fr: In your FAQ you say you don't know about any, but I found an "instrumental" of Bittersweet symphony on a site!! Well it's quite short, but well done nonetheless. You can find it on this page: http://www.melted.com/storage/sounds.htm. But it's not at the very top, scroll down a bit first. UPDATE: Ben Rice made an instrumental version for his wedding. Obviously I can't put it online but if you contact me I might be able to help you find it." You may want to Listen to "The Last Time" and see if that will work for your purposes since that is where the melody came from! Good luck!

The Oldham version - at least the two or three I found - had bells and more percussion than the Verve one. Do you know anyone that could create a loop of the parts that are instrumental so that it's long enough?
