Number 3. My rationale? Number one is simple, classic, definitely a safe choice. Number two is nice, but not striking. Somehow, the channel setting is more early 2000 to me (crazy that I can already call 2000 a smidge dated!) than 2007. Number three is classic, yet has a "wow" factor. Number four is pretty, but will look dated more quickly than the others and will be very difficult to wear with a wedding band.

#3 Munchkin summed it up well. #4 is actually one of my favorite settings ever, but it is hard to pair with a WB and is a very "now" style.

1 or 3 would be my vote. 1 is less exciting, but as classic as it gets IMHO. I doubt the solitaire will ever go out of style and think of all the fun she can have choosing her wedding band. #3 is simply beautiful, especially if you got the matching band!

I chose # 3 before I looked at all the other responses--so I wasn't being swayed by the overwhelming concensus. It is a beautiful choice IMHO. Don't forget to post pics when you've made your decision.

#3 is gorgeous and would be perfect for a 1 ct. stone! I like that it has a matching wedding band as well.

#1 is a lovely choice for a person who is into the classic beauty of a solitaire. #3 also has classic beauty... with a little extra bling. I would go with either #1 or #3.

I don't suppose it would help if I were to prefer this one: http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/scott-kay-jewelry/rings/157U1/0/ ? It kept glaring at me at the bottom of each of your choices, wasn't my fault, honest...
