Hi, Im in Orlando and wondered if anyone new where to buy a loose diamond. Im not interested in paying Mall prices and am looking for a large Emerald type stone. Does not need to be 100% perfect as my wife already has that, she wants a large stone that we can have set high. Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

I am not 100% sure about places in Orlando, but I would go to Abazias in Gainesville. Just a short drive and they have an excellent selection. If you call ahead with specs, I'm sure they'll be able to pull together various diamonds so you have plenty to look at when you make the drive! Good luck!

Phil~ Welcome to Pricescope! I'm no where near Florida so I can't offer a suggestion there. But, is there a reason you're not looking online? If you follow the Resources link at the top of the page, it will give yo a list of trusted, reputable, online vendors that have great prices. I don't know what your "large" definition is, but HERE is a pretty emerald. If you want to shop online, we can help if you give us an idea of what you're looking for. Good Luck! *** "Life is change. Thank you but as you are aware, that's very much top end money for a stone like that. We will be looking for something a little more substantial for 10k.

I don't know. I say that diamond that SomethingShiny posted is pretty great for 10K. Florida Phil: What exactly do you mean by it doesn't have to be 100% perfect? What's the lowest color/clarity you would go then? Also, welcome to PS! |

As mentioned, we are prepared to forgo top quality on this one to get a larger stone. With that in mind I’m thinking the very lowest we would go is G and S12/S13 which I know is on the lower end. I realize I will have to get an Enhanced stone but she wants a large "Blingy" stone. Im finding some interesting stuff on the NY section of Craigslist. How genuine, who knows.
