I don't have a top 5, but I do have a Top 2!

This one is my #1 Favorite!  I LOVE the diamonds in the head and I adore the knife edge band...so classic, yet unique!

And My #2 Favorite:

http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/ritani-jewelry/rings/30QQ1/60/

You just can't go wrong with a solitaire (with some added decoration )

I forget how big your center stone was going to be, b/c my selections might vary based on the size of the center stone ... something you might want to keep in mind.

1 - Scott Kay
2 - Alex Soldier
3 - Ritani
4 - Ritani
5 - Ritani

Please, please, please let us know what you decide.  This is so exciting!!

bill pearlman actually sent me a jane taylor to look at not too long ago and it was quite something. i love that design of the one you linked to and having seen the quality of her work i have to vote for that one!

i have also seen michael bondanza's pieces and they are sooooo precise and lovely. however, part of the charm of his work IMO are the sharp details and the mirror-like surfaces he achieves. my concern for myself when i was looking at his settings was how quickly that effect would be lost as the 'platinum patina' set in. i don't think i would care for that effect on his pieces; i would want to keep that amazing mirror finish. maybe someone with experience can chime in on this, or you could ask bill about this if it would be a concern for you.

best of luck, i can't wait to see what you end up with!

#1 - Ritini - Smaller tapered bead set

#2 - Jane Taylor - Split shank pave

I hope Pearlman's has sizeable versions in stock because there is no way those manufacturers could make one from scratch in less than 4-6 weeks.

I like any of the thinner bands--many are in a similar "family" of styles. My personal bias would be to go with a thinner shank as opposed to a chunky one unless you know she likes them . I don't know what your stone size is, but thinner shanks make stones look bigger and are so pretty......

Ok, I started this not realizing how many rings there were, and how tired I am at this moment.  So, I wasn't able to narrow it down to 5, but for what it's worth I will tell you the ones I rejected as I looked, and a few comments I wrote on others.  Also, it should be noted that channel-set is not my personal favorite, so I usually rejected them right off the bat, but if you/she like channel-set, by all means go for it.

Those I rejected:

http://www.dvatche.com/weddingbands.html (design 2 of 39)

Other notes:
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/ritani-jewelry/rings/42QQ1/0/   -ok
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/ritani-jewelry/rings/47QQ1/48/
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/ritani-jewelry/rings/30QQ1/60/ - pretty
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/jane-taylor-jewelry/rings/43L1/30/-kinda neat
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/michael-bondanza-jewelry/rings/52DD1/66/
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/scott-kay-jewelry/rings/157U1/0/ - unique
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/scott-kay-jewelry/rings/112U1/18/
http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/jewelry-designers/scott-kay-jewelry/rings/45U1/30/

Possibly the fact that I wrote "pretty" after 30QQ1/60 makes it my favorite, but I would have to sit for a while and really compare all of them to know for sure.  I hope this helps!
