Just to get some ideas in, tell me how you would re-set my asscher. It's about 7 mm x 7 mm and worn with a channel-set asscher band, 3 mm wide. I am going to look at some different settings this weekend, but I would love to get some ideas that maybe I'm not thinking of. I'm looking forward to hearing what you think or seeing pics of what you think would look good!

but... but... your set is so gorgeous! The channel-set asscher band makes me not want to see anything blingy with it. Right now, your set has a demure elegance to it, but putting the band next to a distractingly sparkly RB or radiant would make the band look like a conservative wallflower (if that makes sense). I also feel that some of the more common things people do to engagement settings (add pave, halo, etc.) wouldn't work. What about adding a bezel halo to the asscher, as per Laurenthepartier? OR changing the ering setting to one that has surprise diamonds (MM or Scott Kay) or different prongs (Leon Mege or Maytal)? "Seriously. Stop." |

I've been a big fan of Singlestone lately. They have some beautiful settings & are easy to work with regarding custom work, etc. www.singlestone.com I guess it is okay to put their website on the board? What about a superskinny band to make the stone pop?

Maybe put it on a band made up of channel set asschers. I think having that many altogether might look cool. Or you could go with a classic tapered baguette on either side. Or how about two little asschers on top of eachother on each side - forming north/south rectangles. |

What about simply adding two side stones? This is an asscher three stone from Fay Cullen, but I think step cut traps would be gorgeous too! I'm still looking for a picture.![]()

Looking though old threads I found this website that custom cuts side stones. www.trapz.com They even do triple sides. Imagine your asscher with diminishing step cut traps tapering down each side, much like the setting Blu posted without the halo. Oh, and Facets has some three stone settings with asscher and trap sides in their Solo Settings section.

I like tapered baguettes or bullets by Leon with single claw prongs on your diamond. ![]() I did see a interesting (and very nice) three stone with an asscher and two STEP CUT half moons. The asscher was a little rectangular and set east west. Looked really different and really lovely.

I second step-cut trap sides in a thin platinum Leon setting. It would be stunning (not that it isn't already). ![]() ![]()

Date: 11/29/2007 2:10:31 PM Author:vespergirl tell me how you would re-set my asscher In a bezel-set pendant ON MY NECK ... so you can stop the madness! But if YOU're finally sure about it ... then put it in LadyAmythest's Jeff Cooper (?) swoopy channel-set-tapered-bags-plus-asschers setting. JUST SAY NO TO CUSTOM. I don't think my heart could take it.

But I LOVE your set! ![]() My vote is for 3 stone asscher ba-by! So you can get the blinged out finger covereage I know you want ![]() Imagine your honkin' asscher in the middle, one asscher friend on each side, paired with your asscher diamond wedding band. Can you say major bling bling??

Ooo, this could be fun. We just got a new Shreve, Crump and Low catalog (where my ring was bought) in the mail yesterday and i saw an asscher in there that I love, but I can't find a pic of it online. It was an asscher with side traps and channel set asschers on the sides. It would look fantastic with your wedding band. I also love the Leon Mege setting with side bullets. Yum!

HI everyone, thanks so much for your suggestions! I have three looks that I'm really liking in my head right now, so I guess I just need to go try them on & see ... The first would be keeping my asscher, adding two asscher or trap sidestones, and then 2.5 mm channel-set asschers down the sides the rest of the way - I saw it in a jewlery shop yesterday & really liked it - like this one except with asschers instead of princess cut: ![]()

I LOVE the asschers with the baguette haloes, but I tried one on at a jewelry store, and unfortunately, it did not look good on my hand - haloes just aren't for me. I can't wait to go to the trunk show tomorrow morning & try all these on - should be a lot of fun!!!

I vote for traps or bags. You don't want to diminish that baby with more asschers on either side. IMHO.

DON'T GIVE UP YOUR ASSCHER FOR A RB! Us Asschers have to stick together! Your set is amazing, and we are facing similar struggles (see my post from today). I'm leaning towards bag sidestones with my asscher. I like traps and step-cut half moons, too, but the side view still has that "cathedral" look which I like when you have bags. What cw is yours, if you don't mind me asking?

Date: 11/30/2007 9:59:36 AM Author: vespergirl Or maybe even this one with the asscher in the middle: I like that one. It looks like the side stones are pointing to the asscher saying 'check out this beauty'! I agree - asscher lovers must stick together!! |

Are you thinking about something like this? http://www.martinflyer.com/catalog/F/large/5199SEPL-SET.jpg I'm just about in the process of getting a ring very similar w/out the eternity band though. I think it is beautiful.
