Hey Guys,

I am a longtime lurker, and member of this forum. You guys gave me some wonderful advice on buying my wife her engagement ring, and she LOVES it!

Now, the time has come where I would like to buy her a matching jewelry set. The problem is, I can't seem to find very many. I think I am using the wrong terms to search, hence my poor results.

What I want is a necklace with pendant, and matching earrings. Or, I would like something similar that would look great as a set.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, please let me know. I found a beautiful graduated diamond pendant and necklace at Helzberg for 599.99 (1 carat TW, 7 diamonds). Does anyone know anything about this company or its diamond quality?

Thanks for your input! I look forward to hearing from you guys once again.

What style in earrings and pendant are you looking for?  Do you want diamonds, colored stones, pearls?  Does she like hoops, drops, studs, bezel set, prong set?  Is it for everyday wear or special occasions?  What is your budget?

Hi,

She likes hooped earrings and simple diamond pendent necklaces.

I am only looking for white gold and diamonds. My budget is around $600.

I don't think you can get both nice earrings and nice pendant with your budget. You can check out Macy's with coupon on a sale day but the quality of their diamonds is not the best.

I'd rathet get 1 nice piece than 2 so-so ones.   The price of gold and diamonds went up dramatically this year, so you should concentrate on getting either nice earrings like these http://www.whiteflash.com/golden-wardrobe/Gold_Details.aspx?ItemCode=WF-4158&CategID=54 or a nice pendant like this http://www.whiteflash.com/golden-wardrobe/Gold_Details.aspx?ItemCode=WF-4121&CategID=7

What about the whiteflash XO pendant? I saw a similar one (same cw, different retailer) in person and nearly bought it - very simple and classic.

XO: http://www.whiteflash.com/Fine-jewelry/Pendants/-XO--pendant_928.htm

I also loooove the three-leaf flower pendant: http://www.whiteflash.com/Fine-jewelry/Pendants/Three-Leaf-Flower-Pendant_1130.htm

Both of these are under $400.

You could match either of these with the .25 tcw studs at $350: http://www.whiteflash.com/Fine-jewelry/Diamond_Studs/Three-Prong--Martini---READY-SET-TO-GO_950.htm

They would be small, but lovely.

Ohhhh one more idea for a matching set: Dreams of Africa earrings and pendant from Whiteflash -

http://www.whiteflash.com/Fine-jewelry/Pendants/Petite-Dreams-of-Africa-_1074.htm

Together, they come in below $600.

IR to Helzberg...I have a couple of pieces from there, purchased before I knew anything about jewelry. I love both pieces for sentimental reasons, but they're not top quality. The chains are thiiiiiiin, the gold thin, and the diamonds are very low grade (and the prices are high for how low quality the diamonds are). Typically, in a retailer like Helzberg, they can't even tell you what diamond grade is used in their jewelry. On PS, vendors in the mall are often called "maul" retailers- in other words, "buyer beware."

And...this is my personal opinion, but I'm really not a fan of the journey style. I think it's more a fad, and I'd rather have my diamond jewelry be different than what everyone else has. If your wife has expressed an interest in the journey style, then n/m, but I think as a surprise, a nicer gift would be something different than what everybody else is getting.
