I was so happy that he was ok with me picking it out (seeing as how I am so picky and he couldn't keep it a secret anyway ). I finally selected a .99 F SI2 (eyeclean) Princess of Hearts! (Hearts & Arrows square with clipped corners) Yay! Next was to get that lovely thing on my finger! About 2 months ago my fiance got tickets for Cirque Du Soleil Corteo in Orange County... I've been wanting to see Cirque for a long time but never got around to it, and he thought it would be a perfect bday present. Since it was going to be a special night (and because I finally picked a diamond!), he decided to make it more special by proposing on that night. He wanted to tell my parents before we told the rest of my family on Thanksgiving, so I told them we would drop off some Christmas stuff my mom needed. I had to make lame excuses so that she wouldn't pick it up herself when she was passing right by my house. On our way to their house, we stopped to pick up some pie so that it wasn't like we were just gonna drop the stuff off and leave or stand there not leaving and have an awkward silence before my fi got the courage to tell them. My fi is really outgoing and straightforward, so it was amusing to see him nervous! When he finally told them, they were surprised and excited. As we were leaving (we hadn't eaten the pie) my mom says, "Wait... what was the pie for?" I shrugged and said, "I dunno, I just didn't want to drop off the stuff and leave, so... pie." And then she starts teasing me about my "celebration pie" and "random food" yadda yadda. My ring arrived that Wednesday morning! And I had to have it there without peeking... oy! That night I brought it to his house and he's opening up the package and one of his roommates is there and I keep hearing her say, "It's so pretty! It's so pretty!" So I had to open the door and reply, "Is it pretty? Is it pretty?" So it didn't fall out of my Fi's pocket, I had to keep it in my purse (Since it was the day before Thanksgiving, he picked out a cute little pumpkin box with green crystal leaves). We had dinner at French 75 in Newport Beach. The food was terrific and the ambiance was romantic. During the appetizer of cheeses and grilled breads, he says, "Let me see the ring" and I said, "NOoooo you can't be looking at it in front of me when I can't see it," so he says, "Well, maybe I'm ready to give it to you." So of course I say, "OH! Okay then!" So he said his sweet proposal and I said "yes" and stared at it on my finger under the candlelight. And when we were walking into Cirque and car headlights were illuminating us, I would look down at my ring and say, "Look at it! Look at it!" It looks pretty in candlelight. It looks pretty in headlights. It looks pretty in t.v. light. Kitchen light. Bathroom light. Mall light. Sunlight. Desk light. I walk around like a zombie with my left arm out. It's so icy white and fiery and it sparkles SO much! I love it (and him!) Yay! I'm happy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ May you live all the days of your life. -Swift
