So BF (is there an abbreviation for world's-most-amazing-boyfriend? ) is taking me on a mystery trip in a few weeks' time. I have no idea where I am going but I do know the following:

* It involves a Ryanair flight, ex Shannon
* The flight is followed by an "ahem" and then an "ahem" and then we get "there"
* "There" has a great view of "ahem"
* The thing we have a view of is also something we are going to on the Saturday night
* It will be cold, it might snow
* There is a Christmas market

My guesses so far as to where "there" is are Venice (but I'm not sure if it has a Christmas market) and Munich. Hmmm... any other ideas?!?

What do you think the "ahems" might be?!? I'm stumped about the Saturday night thing, I have NO IDEA!!!

Come on ladies, come up with lots of magical suggestions and get me all worked up and even more excited than I already am!!!

ETA: Oooops I should have added it's definitely not a proposal... no proposal here (by mutual agreement) until after the PhD is finished

Prague..............really excited for you.

I'd love to be whisked away to a city not knowing until I got to the airport where I was going.  I'm saying that............I'd probably be having a fit trying to find out, driving my DH up the wall.

So I looked it up, and some of the big countries for Christmas Markets are German, Switzerland and Austria.

Hmmm could your view be one of the mountains?

Or maybe you are going to Oberammergau...I've been there...cute town, and apparently known for their Christmas markets. Not sure what the view would be though.

Bern?  Innsbruck?  Salzburg?  Hm...

I'd bet on Salzburg personally. I wanted to take FI to one of the xmas markets last year and was searching the RyanAir website for ideas - in the end we had too much work on to go. Enjoy it wherever it is!

RyanAir doesn't fly to Prague - but then you could be transferring... RyanAir does fly to some tiny town in the Czech Republic, and Venice doesn't have a Christmas Market and it almost never snows.

Sounds like a proposal trip to me!

Maybe the 'ahem' is train or some other form of transportation...

I have a dirty, dirty mind: the 'ahems' sounded to me like a polite way to refer to hanky-panky.

You girls are naughty naughty naughty!!! And I have no idea what you're talking about...

So Brussels it's not as we've been there before and it wasn't so much a hit. Then again I was sick so maybe he'd take me back to make better memories? That'd be nice!

Paris would be amaaazing!!! Ooooh I love Paris

Dusseldorf is definitely a possibility as Ryanair fly kind of near to there! Wooo! The other German cities it might be a bit of a trek. Then again, all those ahems quite likely are train journeys...

Krakow would be AMAZING!!! And Ryanair fly there!!! Oooooh!!!

Prague - I've been twice (both times in the Winter) and I loooove it. BF's never been.

The Austrian cities are probably out as Ryanair doesn't go there at all

I guess that rules out Oberammergau too. Plus the fact that BF has never heard of it - I guessed it last night and it seriously didn't compute, he was like "over what?!?"

Ryanair routes are here - keep 'em guesses coming!!! I'm really enjoying this!!!

I checked out the map the other day. With a transfer in Dublin, you could get to Salzburg....

But Krakow would be awesome.  I nearly went, but then an episode happened and TGuy and I had to part ways.  I was supposed to accompany him to Krakow....I always felt like I missed out...

I very much doubt BF would have risked booking anything involving transfers - we are flying Ryanair!

Krakow would be very cool. All this chatting with Maisie today about Christmas markets has gotten me all giddy! Woohoo! Two more Fridays and I'm jetting off somewhere mysterious!

I'm gonna end up in Ballybunion aren't I?

Poor BF says he let it slip on the phone last night where we're going. He was in a right state on the text this morning. Lucky for him I mustn't have been paying good attention as I still have NO idea!

On the phone we were talking about Christmas markets and trying to find one in London next weekend. I was skeptical but he was saying how there's probably one there because they even have them in the big cities in Ireland now, and he was at one in Glasgow last year.

Oooooh maybe it's Glasgow!!! We've both been, but not together. Or Edinburgh!!! I'm off to check that Ryanair map again...

ETA: Ooooh yeah! Ryanair flies to BOTH Glasgow and Edinburgh! Could the view possibly be of Edinburgh Castle?

I got one more clue out of him! We were talking about this mystery trip and he jokingly asked me to remind him how many languages I speak, and then he something said like 'hmmm, well I guess we miiiight be covered'. Then he tried to cover his tracks when I said 'oh so they don't speak English there?' - he said 'sure everyone in Europe speaks some English these days'...

So now I don't think it's Glasgow / Edinburgh any more! I'm not going to sleep a wink Thursday night with the excitement

Right then, we need to know what languages you speak, he is being a right little tinker!  Unless you only speak English...

Munich...Jersey perhaps????  Don't know if it snows there though...

English (in a big broad brogue ), Irish, German - I speak those three pretty well - and a teensy smattering of Italian. Enough to buy train tickets, ask directions, and order food. The important stuff!

It's not Munich, he has told me we'll do that one another time for a longer trip (I'm super sentimental cos I used to live there and he's such a dote, he wants me to have more than just a weekend). I don't think Ryanair fly to Jersey?
