Hey there :) *points above* the best way to search is to do a pricescope search up the top :) I did a quick search for you but found nothing in your budget in that clarity colour combo range Was there a specific reason you wanted such a high clarity?I did however find 2 diamonds in the VVS2 range which is still very high, one is a D colour .31 ($1363) the other .40 F vvs2 ($1040 with pricescope discount) slightly larger then you were after though GL with your search __________________________________________________________ ![]() Sometimes if your really lucky all your dreams do come true ............... |

Hi Julia, That one from James Allen that Deelight found looks great Here's a few more I found, although nothing in your budget with those specs (really limits things). If you could possibly lower them a tad, there are more choices. You would get a 2% Pricescope discount on these. http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-12495.htm# http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-204641.htm# http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-395187.htm# http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-8221.htm# ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Date: 11/22/2007 7:12:17 AM Julia, I was typing while you were.Author: Julia_T Hi! This one may have potential. You'd need to have them call it in, it's not in house. Have them do an Idealscope picture and Sarin on it, that would tell you for sure. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

Thank you Deelight and Ellen! Is it better when the diamond has a AGS-certificate? Do you know who long it take to call in a diamond? What are an Idealscope picture and Sarin?

Date: 11/22/2007 8:05:15 AM Welcome!Author: Julia_T Thank you Deelight and Ellen! Is it better when the diamond has a AGS-certificate? Do you know who long it take to call in a diamond? What are an Idealscope picture and Sarin? 1. To me it's not, but there are others who prefer an AGS grading report. 2. I don't know, I've never had a diamond called in. I would guess a day or two to get it, and unless they're swamped, the results would be up the same day they get it. Of course, weekends would play a role, as they're closed Sat. and Sun. 3. If you look at one of the links I posted, underneath reports, are Sarin, and Idealscope. You can click on those. The Sarin is a more precise measurement of the stone. The Idealscope picture lets you get a good idea of a diamonds light return. If you would like indepth explanations of these, just do a search on here for them.

Your welcome Julia :) In Australia as well on the majority the size of the diamonds is usually 1/2 a carat and under though some sport bigger I do agree bigger is not always better :). For me and fairly well everyone else around here cut is king. The cut is what makes a diamond come to life and shine and sparkle like there is no tomorrow :) and that to me that is what that major part of quality is all about :). In saying that though we all have our own personal preferences and tolerances when it comes to colour and clarity :) for me it is no lower then an F and VS2 :) though I would not object to higher. __________________________________________________________ ![]() Sometimes if your really lucky all your dreams do come true ............... |

Welcome. May I ask what your budget is? I ask because I too have been looking for stones in this size range (starting at .30 points), D or E color, IF or VVS1 clarity, ideal cut. The prices I have found are not lower than the Blue Nile stone you posted a link to, which, incidentally, is a VVS2. I do not know the origin of these stones (regarding conflict free diamonds...) Nice Ice has a .33 E VVS1 AGS cert: (first stone on list). Whiteflash has two stones, .30 E VVS1 and .39 D VVS1 in their Expert Selection category, both AGS cert: http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-10635.htm http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-14672.htm Good Old Gold has a .37 D IF H & A with a GIA cert: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/3776/ And a few in James Allen's virtual lists I did not post....... ETA: Dutton Diamonds has a Canadian Diamond (non conflict), Cut by Infinity, . 36 E VVS2, AGS (0) cert: http://www.diamondexpert.com/diamonds/dbs.cgi? Another .36 F VVS1, Cut by Infinity, Canadian, AGS (1) cert:

Sharon, did you find those at WF by searching on the board here? And I couldn't get GOG to come up?? To Julia, I personally want a totally eyeclean diamond (that CAN be all the way down to an SI2, believe it or not), H or higher, H&A Excellent/Ideal cut. But it's totally personal, and different for everyone. As said before, cut is king, and what truly makes a beautiful diamond. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

HI: Ellen: the ES diamonds at WF were found by searching their site. I cannot explain the GOG blank screen, I found the stones last night....having searched on previous occasions.....maybe in the cutting and pasting from one forum to another????? . I guess I should have checked each and every link for viability after the cut/paste but alas I did not....sorry....ETA: Here is that Dutton link that did not work: http://www.diamondexpert.com/diamonds/dbs.cgi?sf=detd.setup.cgi&active=active&stock=RB10003361&submit_search=1 cheers--Sharon "People who possess great qualities, do not need to show off". |

What do you think about this diamond? http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&track=view_details_btn&elem=img&pid=LD00953785&filter_id=0 I am going to have a yellow gold ring so I thougt that maby it can be ok with a G-color diamond... or do you think it's better to keep a very good color and take a lower clarity? There are many great suggestions. Thank you! I am going to order today and it's so difficult to decide which one!! Which one of these would you buy? Suddenly there is so many good ones. ![]() ![]()

For me as I am very colour sensitive I would up the colour and drop the clarity with VVS range your really paying for something you can't see, and in a beautiful diamond in the .30 range you would be hard pressed seeing something in VS2 IMO at the end of the day though you have to work within not only what is eye clean but what is mind clean for you. Here are a few I pulled in your budget that are in house the prices on the site don't include pricescope discounts either :) .30 E VS2 H&A .311 ACA H&A F VS1 .314 ACA H&A F VS2 .317 ACA H&A E VS2 .336 ACA H&A E VS2 .338 ACA H&A E VS1 The small inclusion on this one looks like a smiley face YAY a happy diamond :) *pokes the report*__________________________________________________________ ![]() Sometimes if your really lucky all your dreams do come true ............... |

The one from Nice Ice looks fine. The one from BN looks fine too. The first one from WF has an older grading report, and it doesn't look to be in house, so can't really comment. The second one doesn't look to be in house either. You'd need these called in and looked at first. I have to ask though, what's the rush? This is kind of an important purchase, I'd recommend slowing down a bit.

HI: You menitoned the "conflict free status" and the latter is diamond of Canadian origin as stated on the website, can't speak to the others as you would have to call and find out..... http://www.diamondexpert.com/diamonds/dbs.cgi?sf=detd.setup.cgi&active=active&stock=RB10003361&submit_search=1 Take care!! cheers--Sharon "People who possess great qualities, do not need to show off". |

Ellen: The rush because I have a friend that is in USA right now until thursday so she can take the diamond with her to Sweden. If I order and they send the package to Sweden I have to pay +38% in taxes and customs. My bank sad that bank wire to US will take one week. And it's to long time. Just when I thougt that I can't order, whiteflash sad that it would be ok with Paypal and it will take only one day maximum.

Date: 11/23/2007 2:42:49 PM In my opinion, so so. I don't like how shallow the PA angle is. If you look at the enlarged photo of it, compared to some others, you can see it lacks the definition the others have. In my opinion you can do better, and because of your situation, you need to get it right the first time.Author: Julia_T I have looked at so many diamonds now so I am dizzy. If it were me, I'd pick one of the WF stones, or the one from Dutton's. Any of those will be a real beauty. Up to you on which one. ![]() Just a note: Face up size, Dutton's is the smallest, and the WF D is the largest. There is a noticable amount of visual spread difference there. I know size isn't your main goal, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Julia - I have not read the entire thread so my comment may be redundant. To me, the sweet spot for a very white diamond is F VS2. When I got my first diamond many years ago I went for a VVS1 [I had a heart attack when I was shown a stone with inclusions under a loupe - you coudn't see anything with the naked eye but, boy, with the loupe . . . What I did not realize at the time is that, given sufficient magnification, all stones will show inclusions. If I knew then what I know now, I would have gone for a VS2 and a larger size with the same color. Hope this helps. DB ============================ |
