Bezel or Semi (half) bezel for a CUSHION, anyone? |

I am going back and forth between a prong setting and a bezel setting. I did a couple of searches here and found some great pictures and threads of bezel and semi-bezel settings. But, most were of round stones, I ran into very few pictures (actually, I think just one) of this type of setting for a cushion. Does anyone have their cushion set in a bezel or semi-bezel setting that you'd like to share? Do you think that a full bezel setting will somewhat hide the beauty of the cushion shape? |

In my own humble opinion, cushions are such yummy, gorgeous shapes (the shape being what makes them so wonderful) that I wouldn't want anything to take away from that, so I'd say put it in some gorgeous double prongs or something that will showcase its beauty. But on the other hand, a bezel or half-bezel could in fact annunciate the outside shape more by delineating it. I dunno, I'd still go with the prongs on that one...

I think a full bezel like the Tiffany Lucida bezel rings are YUMMY. I would prefer to see something sleek like that if you are going to go the bezel route. A half breaks up the fluidity IMO. The bottom one here is the Lucida bezel. YUM YUM YUM! ![]()

I like a full bezel myself.

mrssalvo, no I had not seen that...thank you! At this point I am collecting ideas/pictures, hoping one design will catch my eye and heart... tberube, I agree with you, the shape of the cushion is just so beautiful, I'd hate to have it take away from it...that's why I want to see pictures of actual cushions in bezels or half-bezels to see how I feel about it... And neatfreak, as usual, I agree with you too! I do want something sleek/feminine, but I love the "edginess" of the bezel... Thank you all for your opinions and pictures, and please keep them coming, I need help! I want to wear my diamond already!

I vote full bezel, too. I think it will only accentuate the shape. But, I'm biased! *********************************************** |
