Hello All - I've been reading a lot of postings and trying to educate myself. I think I've narrowed my search for a diamond. Any significant difference with the attached diamonds besides the size? They seem very similar to me. Anything I'm missing that I should consider? http://whiteflash.com/diamonds/Compare_Diamonds.aspx?idnos=179742,179760,273553,260695 I'm much less confident with the setting. I'm looking for something simple, yet elegant in platinum. Any thoughts on the below? http://whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/Narrow-V-Head-tiffany-style-Knife-Edge_792.htm http://whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/-W-Prong--Solitaire-by-WF_741.htm http://whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/-Sleek-Lines--Solitaire_688.htm# I realize that there is some personal preference with the setting, but I want to make sure the setting accentuates the diamond, since I'd like that to be the focus. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

The difference in those diamonds is the spread. The most expensive one has a slightly bigger spread than the others. Will you notice it once it's set? No. So I'd go with one of the cheaper ones personally unless it's important to get as close as possible to the 1.25 mark. As for the setting, I think the sleek line is the nicest out of the ones you've chosen... BUT I think the Legato Sleek Line is even nicer!!! The head is so much more delicate... http://whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/-Legato--Sleek-Line_1118.htm

Welcome! You can't go wrong with an ACA, it just depends on which of these stunners best fits your individual preferences, but you could pick any one and be thrilled!! Another vote for the sleek line setting too, it will really make the diamond pop! ![]() Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. I like the second setting. They all are pretty though.

I like the second or the 3rd one. I've heard that the knife-edge rings hurt (cut into the pinky and middle fingers). -Sabrina

Thank you all for your responses...very helpful. I like the legato sleek line you recommended. Any more opinions on settings?
