It is F, VS, depth 60.3%, table 59%. I think there is a bow tie IMO, how do you think of it? Is this bow tie ok if the diamond is still brilliant and having a lot of fire in sunshine?

Oooh-pretty ring! I think almost all ovals have a bowtie to some degree-some more than others. My pear has a pretty distinct bowtie, but it doesn't really bother me unless I'm wearing black. hehe Personally, I think your stone is lovely.

It can be very difficult to avoid bow ties with many fancy shapes, that is a fabulous oval you have there - no worries!!![]()

Almost every fancy shape has a bowtie if you look into it at a certain angle - not a big deal. To me it just looks like a reflection of the shank. Your stone is beautiful.

Every single oval, pear, marquise, etc is going to have a bowtie no matter what anyone says. The question is, how minimized is it visually? I think your oval looks beautiful! It has a bowtie region like they all do, but it is not distracting and that is what matters. Tell us more about the stone!

Thank you ! More about the stone? Mmm.... It's an engagement ring . Actually, we were searching for RBs for quite a while, but suddenly decided to get an oval one since I thought there were too many RBs , and ovals looked bigger and more elegant. It's a quick buy without too much knowledge on ovals. So I'm not sure about the cut quality of this stone(no cut grade on cert.) It's GIA certified, 1.05 carat, L/W=1.38 ( the shape is pleasing to me:),polish and symmetry are very good.

Your oval is lovely and in different lights u probably will not see it. I just got another diamond and it is an oval. It is 2 carats, in fancy diamonds bow ties r very common. Mine does not bother me at all. It depends on the lighting, there are times its there and ooops it is not, lol. See close up below. ![]()

I love your oval! As everybody has said bow ties are totally normal in fancies so let the sparkles distract you instead. Enjoy your ring and congratulations on your engagement.
