Hey everyone! This is my first post (of many) I hope. My husband just surprized me with my 5th anniversay gift....3.01 carat Oval. But now he has left the design up to me. I am very found of the Danile K settings, but I also enjoy tension settings. I am having a tough time with the size also....I know I don't want any larger diamonds next to my Oval. So a pave setting or a micro setting combined with a tension would be what I'm looking for. If you have ideas please let me know! Your opinion is greatly appreicated! Such a wealth of knowledge!

HI: Welcome again! I am not an expert on tension settings, but I know that not all loose stones are "candidates" for tension settings. Therefore, that not all manufactures of tension settings will take your loose stone for setting into one of their mounts--security and safety issue I suspect. Have you seen any tension settings you like--and inqured after the companies policy about setting fancy shaped stones, they did not supply? This is where I'd start if I were serious about this type of mount. Let us know how you make out after your inquiries. Should you decide against a tension setting, there are so many other options to explore! P.S.
