My future son in law just borrowed a ring she wore on her left hand and had a jeweler tell him the size and replaced it before she noticed it was missing...

Here is a thread with some creative ideas. I love the DKS pizza dough plan.

IF she wears a ring on her ring finger already ( left or right hand) if she takes it off to shower, do dishes, anything, push the ring into a bar of soap and you have an imprint! or trace the inside of it on a peice of paper, anything will work!

One of my friends put one of his girlfriend's rings on his pinky, pushed it on as far as it would go, then traced the band on his finger. Then, he went into a jewelry store and tried on ring sizers until he found the one that lined up with the marks on his finger.

are you friends with any of the women in her life? It is very easy for a friend to get ring size from another woman... you could always just casually slip on one of her rings (on your pinky or something) and then comment..."geez, you fit this thing on your finger? look how tiny it is! Really, this fits your finger? Wow, what size is that thing!? Man, what size do you think I would wear?!" something like that.... or, while she's sleeping, take a piece of string and put wrap it around her finger to "measure" it. Or I suppose you could try that sneakily some time while you are just sitting watching TV, casually wrap something around her finger then measure it later.

Would that be common enough talk amongst ladies in that it wouldn't confirm her suspicions of a proposal on the horizon?

The only time I EVER talked about ring size with my friends was post-engagement, when they asked to try on my ring (many didn't know their OWN ring size, so tried mine on and asked what size it was to perhaps guage their own, I guess). That would have tipped me off, pre-proposal, since I never found myself chatting about rings to girlfriends! Waterlilly's second suggestion is a funny one! And would probably work too, if the guy is smooth enough

Everyone....I was told that the ring finger tends to be pretty close to the size your SO would wear in kids or boys sneakers? I am not sure of this is true but in my case they were (the sneakers and ring size) both 5.5.

The ring size for her right hand maybe slightly bigger or smaller then her left hand, so it is not always an accurate measurement. Mine vary 2 sizes Just steal a ring and try it on or trace it I think it will be the best way. GL getting her size :) __________________________________________________________ ![]() Sometimes if your really lucky all your dreams do come true ............... |
