Yup, that's my dress!  The satin is heavy.  It was actually really hot on my wedding day, but because I had on a hoop skirt underneath, I didn't feel very  hot.  The dress was really heavy though.  My seamstress added a hook and eye so that more of the weight of the dress would be supported by my waist instead of my hips, but it must've come undone at some point and my hips were sore for a few days after.  Not so sore that it kept me from enjoying my honeymoon though!  Just sore enough that I didn't want to put my hands on my hips

I think that Jean looks very pretty too.  They do have different feels to them.  I can't remember if you've told us, but what's the feel of your wedding?  What time of day is it?  What's the setting?

thanks robbie yes the two dresses are very different.  i enlarged the jean on my comp and there is something about it that is not giving me the wow!!
i really felt like a princess and cinderella in the vincenza what i always envisioned!! My wedding is a sat evening wedding at a beautiful venue tall staircase, beautiful gardens. we are adding a lot of candles nice tall tapered candles and votives everywhere the colors are champage, brown, and ivory.   i would also wear a hoop as well as i tried it on with one and it made the dress.  good point about it making you a llittle cooler. im so stupid i didnt get a pic today!! i loved the way i looked the dress was a 2 but i need a 4.  the 2 was about an inch too small!! hahah were your alterations expensive??? sorry for all the questions

Sounds like a good place to wear Vincenza!  I think my alterations were under $200.  All I had to have done was a bustle and taken in in the bodice (my dress was a 12, but by the time of the wedding I was more like a street size 4...).  I poofed it out far enough with the hoop skirt so that I didn't need to have it hemmed.

o thanks that was my next question how tall are you? did u order the petite legnth or regualar? i was hoping to get away with petite and putting the hoop and not having to hem to bottom. great way to save major on alterations all i would need is the bustle i like the french bustle.  the next thing that worries me is i feel like we look about the same size but u said urs was a 12, hmmmm i tried a 10 in a store yest and it was too big then i tried the 2 today and it was just a little snug so a 4 would be perfect, but how could that be? we look about the same size.  i get so nerveous im going to be ordering it over the phone so i want to make all the right choices.  the vincenza is just a beautiful rich looking dress that will not be dated in ten years.  i like the jean but dont love it, something on the skirt isnt sitting well.  my biggest worry is I HATE BEING HOT!! hehehe thanks robbie

I'm 5'5" and I wore flats.  Mine was a regular length.  I actually bought mine on ebay (someone never picked up their dress from the shop!  I guess she changed her mind.) and that's why I got a 12.  I probably would've ordered an 8 or a 10 if I'd been ordering from a store.  From the time that I bought it to my wedding day I lost about 15 lbs though.  I was 130ish when I bought it and more like 116/117 on the wedding day.  Thank god for corset backs!  It was pulled pretty tight, but was still a bit big.  Not big enough to fall off or anything, but big enough that it was sliding a bit.  Keep in mind that that's after I had it taken in as much as I could.  So, I could definitely see a 4 fitting me at the weight I was then (sadly I've lost all motivation and it's all coming back lol).

ETA:  I went BM dress shopping with Sabine at David's about a month before the wedding and was wearing a 4 in their BM dresses.  I could zip a 2, but I couldn't really breathe.  When I went wedding dress shopping there around the time that I bought my dress I was wearing an 8.
