Okay, So I did the naughty deed... I purchased from the local RB store (I don't want to admit to the name but the letters will let any locals know which company this is, SO CAL).   The Stones looked SOOOO amazing; through the loop I own and also their Electronic Magnification onto the monitor... Now comes the problem, I can nearly swear these things shine yellow after 2 weeks on the finger.  Is it just me?  Am I going CRAZY (she doesnt see that)?  I figure the best way is to find someone who is good and HONEST to do an appraisal; but that brings up my problem.  Are the 'indepent diamond appraisers' listed on this site (and local to me, 91773) truely trustworthy, or are they just going to take my 100-500 (no clue how much) and tell me whatever???  I am new to the area and don't know anything (thats why I ended buying at RB's)..  Please someone help me from believing I didn't spend 8K and have nothing but 3 yellow stones to show...

Which ones are close to you?
What I would do is post a thread with the closest ones names in the title asking if anyone had used them.
From looking over the list I can say that several people have used Nancy Stacy, a few have used Jennifer Thornton-Davis and a few Thom Underwood and have been given great service.

The most likely cause of diamonds changing color other than lighting is oil and dirt, have they been cleaned recently?

Were you able to get a certificate (GIA?, EGL?) listing the colour of the diamond(s)? Does it say anywhere on your purchase receipt what colour the vendor says it is?

Dig out your paperwork and see what it says.

Also as Strm says a really good cleaning might do the trick.

As for appraisers, I used Nancy Stacy once and felt the report while bulky and expensive ($350.?) didn't contain a lot of detail, but was mostly photpcopies of her credentials. She's the only one that I know of in your area.

Good luck and keep us posted.
