I've been reading a lot of info on here for the last couple of weeks and finally decided I needed to post. I stumbled across this website after searching for engagement ring ideas and was originally looking at blue nile. After looking on here, I was also interested in some stones Whiteflash had, and recently was looking at some stones on engagement rings direct. I stopped by a local shop (only 4 locations here in CT) and looked at a couple stones, and then she brought in a stone from another location. I don't have the cert in front of me but I'm 95% sure this is what it is.

GIA cert, .71 ct, G color, eye-clean SI1. 74% Table, 73% Depth, Thin to Slightly Think Girdle, Very Good polish and symmetry.

This will be set in a simple setting with 6 channel set diamonds 1/4 tw. I put a deposit down to hold it, went in today because I had decided I was going to go online because of the price, but I didn't end up getting to my point as she worked the price again. I needed to stay under $3000, the first time she got it to $3100 but I forgot about tax. As of today it will be $3000 out the door. Blue Nile has a similar setting for $500, but the closest to it on Whiteflash or ERD was $1000-1200. It's getting close enough that it's worth considering. I guess I'm looking for opinions and if people think it's a good deal. I've seen it so thats a plus, but I don't really know what I'm looking at/for, so that doesn't help much. Thanks for the help in advance

Any thoughts here? I know without pavilion angle or IS or ASET images there isn't too much to say. But is $3000 including tax a good price for this? Any thoughts or comments would be great.
