mthebee Rough Rock Total Posts: 11 Last Post: 11/6/2007 Member Since: 10/18/2007	I have been dating my boyfriend for almost 10 months and from the first few weeks it was apparent we'd get married eventually. He said then that by July he'd know if it was a for sure (4 months ago) and that we'd be engaged by then if he felt that way. I definitely am ready to be engaged to him, no doubt in my mind. Tomorrow is my birthday and he has something planned by I don't think it's a proposal because he has a hard time making decisions about small things - so how could he have chosen a ring already? He doesn't know my ring size or my taste, despite my efforts to leave my rings around his house for days at a time. I feel like it could happen any day, but at the same time, he doesn't mention it ever. I don't want to sit around anxiously every day! What are some signs he could be getting ready to propose? I am planning to move in with him in March and he once joked to my friend that we'd be engaged by then. Do you think it's likely it will happen by then? Thanks....

It is pretty early in your relationship to be so anxious about getting married. Why don't you take your time and just enjoy being with him and if he proposes soon, great, and if not, still great, you know it's still on the horizon. Maybe you should wait until he knows your tastes before getting anxious. ............... Enjoy your birthday and know that March is just around the corner. We are in Holiday season, so it can happen anywhere from now until V-Day. Don't worry. I it will happen. Just enjoy the time now. You don't want to consume yourself with "will it happen on my b-day". Good Luck.

I've realized and learned to not set myself up for high hopes and expectations, knowing that it'll be shot down when it doesn't happen. Just live in the moment and don't plan or think too far in ahead. Waiting is a pain, especially when the BF has mentioned engagement/marriage. So, the birthday went by and I did get a beautiful necklace and a nice evening out, but no ring. I had a feeling he wouldn't do it on a birthday - maybe too predictable? Now I'm setting my sights towards end of Jan (our anniversary) or by the end of March (when I am supposedly moving in with him.)
