WOW!! I can't believe I find this site & all of this info!! I feel like I have walked into my first StarBuck's but much much better. 1st - I have tried to take pictures of my 2 rings I need help with but the photos are awful. Any suggestions or secrets on how to properly photograph a diamond. 2nd - I have an Ering (2) that I would like to reset. Center Stone - 7.75 Ct. - Radiant- K-VS2- GIA 11.9 x 10.9 x 7.73 Depth 75.9% Table 76% 1st Side Stone, 1.15 CT. - Radiant-K- SI1 2nd Side Stone, 1.15 CT. - Radiant-J- VVS2 Is this ring set properly? Should the side stones be even w the ctr. stone? Is the band too thick? I REALLY love the look of Michael Beaudry's work but I understand that he doesn't like to use owners stones. I have too much invested in these stones to start fresh w/Beaudry. My jewler will take these stones back & get me a 10+ stone to have set. Do I start over w/ new stone or use what I have a bling out setting? 3rd - Ering + band Center stone - 3.12 CT. - Marquise- I-J- SI- GIA Flanking the diamond are 6 tapered baguette cut diamonds, 3 on each side Flanking the baguettes are 2 pear shaped diamonds 1 on each side Pear & Baguette TW .80CTTW VS clarity H color Total 3.92 CTW Need fresh new idea, design - Set east to west & wear on right hand? Attached are 2 ladies 14K YG wedding bands, 4 tapered baguette cut diamonds, 2 on each side app. .08 each for a TW of .32TW Set on each side of baguettes is 1 pear shaped diamonds for a total of 4 app. .09 each for a TW of .36TW VS clarity - G color- TCW of bands .68 |

I'm stuck at WOW too! You have so many options, really. I'm sure you can get custom settings made if you like, using your existing stones. I'm sure you'll get lots of advice here. Hope to see more pics. It's not that easy to take good shots, don't worry too much. Some people using the macro setting will take many, many pics just to get 1 or 2 decent shots. Good luck!

With regard to your re set...What about setting that Marquise E/W,and putting the tapered bags one alongside each of the long 4 sides of the Marquise, with the short ends of the bags facing downward towards the ring shank, then put one small RB in between the bags on all 4 sides so a small RB in the N/S/E/W positions? You could then use the pears as ear studs, or, perhaps the pears could go in place of the small RBs at the E/W positions? That might be too much but who knows? I'm envisioning all of this done Leon/HW style, in platinum with fine claw prongs, or bezel set for a more contemporary look...

Gosh, what a great problem to have! I'd recommend looking at Leon Mege's www.artofplatinum.com site as well as Maytal Hannah's www.maytalhannah.com . As for the marquise, I think 3+ carats may be too big to set E/W. As far as the other stones go, do you love them? If so, I'd keep them. If not, I might trade for something else.

Is this ring set properly? What do you mean--"set properly"? Do you mean proportionately? Yes, I mean proportionately Should the side stones be even w the ctr. stone? Is the band too thick? It is hard to tell without more clear photo's. You are correct I am working on better pics--- I REALLY love the look of Michael Beaudry's work but I understand that he doesn't like to use owners stones. I have too much invested in these stones to start fresh w/Beaudry. How about another manufacturer? There are many to choose from. I am open to suggestions, thanks so much for the reply & info My jewler will take these stones back & get me a 10+ stone to have set. I am confused , do you want to reset or trade in? 10 + stone--what shape? Not sure. That is what I am trying to decide. Engagement was called off & is now back on & he wants a "fresh start" --- including ring. I'm thinking I should at least consider my options. My jeweler is great at getting me good deals but works best with specific instructions. He isn't too great on the creative side but I have sent him lots of business & he never fails to deliver on quality & best price. Do I start over w/ new stone or use what I have a bling out setting? IMHO, your ring is very substantial in its present form. Can you elaborate what you mean by "bling out setting"? That's true. I have been very lucky but I am 5'11 and have long fingers so I can carry more than average. Great for me not him $ He does love D's as much as I though.3rd - Ering + band Center stone - 3.12 CT. - Marquise- I-J- SI- GIA Need fresh new idea, design - Set east to west & wear on right hand? Danhov makes a setting for a marquise and is E/W in orientation. Have you seen it? Since you mentioned potential trade in's, maybe your jeweller would unmount your center stone, and take your old setting in trade against these settings or one similar... Just checked out the Danhov setting --- LOVE IT, but this is everything that my niece has described as the perfect setting for her 2CT oval. I must pass this info along to her. http://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_294-1140.asphttp://www.jamesallen.com/products/item_294-1132.asp cheers--Sharon Thank you!! Rita

HI: Great pics! Much clearer. Beautiful rings, BTW! As for your radiant, I don't think it is "disporportionate", as much as the choice of side stone could have been "more complimentary" to your large rectangular radiant--e.g. use of cut that could provide more fluidity in the setting...trapazoids, large tapered baugettes, bullets, even half moons would provide a softer look around the edges. KWIM? As an aside, I have a 5.01 raidant set with side traps (hence the suggestion ) that are .56 each and the top of the shank of my ring tapers from app. 2mm to 3.5 at the widest point on the bottom on my ring. Altho I am biased it is my perception the shapes look well together and proportionate. My finger is sized at 6.25 and are longish too.As for your marquise, I still like the E/W setting and would look to antique type settings for inspiration; something filagree and no other stones might be stunning...w/g. Also Pearlman's has a wonderful easy navigabile website with tons of designers on board--you could use this for both your radiant and marquise reset....... http://www.pearlmansjewelers.com/ Or the thought of a trade in is exciting! How about a RB for a change? A yummy wonderfully cut RB in a pave setting could be tempting, no?? ![]() cheers--Sharon "People who possess great qualities, do not need to show off". |

Oh my....your rings are so beautiful I forgot what the question was! That radiant diamond is so beautiful I couldn't see how it could be any better!![]() I do like the idea of an east west design for the marquise, and it's a great size to cover your finger. I think with a halo it would be amazing! Good luck!

But I can't find where you posted it! How about posting a picture here for her. I agree that side traps or tapered baguettes would be beautiful and more complementary to her stone! Rita, those diamonds are certainly beautiful, but if your finance would like a fresh start and fresh ring, I think I would try to consider looking at other stones. But I'd for sure get someone like Leon or Maytal to set your new stones.

That's you?? I can't believe it too funny. The first night I was going thru the web site I saw your ring & pearl earrings and loved them! I actually have two pearls that I had removed from a bracelet to shorten & always said I was going to have made into earrings but never got around to it. I saw your earrings & LOVED them. Classic, elegant & timeless w/a special kick. May be perfect idea for me to use my bags from 2nd ring w/pearls. Your ring is gorgeous!! I think the traps look much better than my 2 side radiants. Yours fits better & looks more like 1 big diamond. Mine looks more 3 ring..hmm thanks for the pics, lots of thinking to do. Any more ideas send them on. Love your taste.
