Hello everyone, I'm new here to the forum but not new to pricescope. Our wedding is next May in the FL keys. I'm starting to freak out that I haven't ordered a dress yet, because I'm hearing that it can take six months! Am I running out of time? I've been to five bridal salons and tried on thirty dresses and I've narrowed it down to a few. I was hoping to get some outside opinions. Dress #1 is Rivini. I love the silk satin material and the back is gorgeous.

#2 Vera Wang, This was my first choice when we were having a beach wedding, but now we're having it in a church so I think I like having more of a train to walk down the aisle.![]()

I love that #1. The detail on the chest is beautiful! I don't like the flouncy flimsy material at the bottom of the Vera Wang. I'm getting married in May, too, and everyone's telling me to give a dress between 3-4 months. I'm on the search too, actually going out later today! :) Good luck in your choice.

Hmm...I think #3 might be the most flattering for your figure. I'm also VERY partial to the assymetrical waist look! I still love the detail on #1 though. You've got a tough decision.

While I love the back of teh Rivini...#3 looks stunning on you. AND for half the price?! Wear that one, look stunning, and go buy a little something for yourself with the extra that you saved! ;-)

I wore that Anjolique to my wedding this weekend and it was WONDERFUL! The built in corset was fantastic, I didn't wear a bra at all :) The only gripe I have about the dress at all is the expensive alterations. I went to three seamstresses and the cheapest quote I got was $550, but I needed to have the bust taken in quite a bit and with all the boning and hand beading it was not cheap. I wish I had a photo of the dress during the ceremony, it was wonderful for an outdoor wedding, though I was worried about the train being too long. When I bought it, it had literally just come out the week before and i couldn't find it anywhere cheaper, but now I'm noticing some sites have it for less (about $400 less than I paid for my negotiated price).

BTW, Keys Girl, this is how my seamstress bustled my dress (French Bustle). The bridal boutique where I bought the gown told me that I could do a ballroom bustle with the extra material coming out of the beading on the back of the dress, but this ended up looking much better because the train is pure silk and there's nowhere to hide any hooks. The French bustle was all done underneath and was great, I think I had 7 points on mine. I just thought you might want an idea of what it could look like bustled.

Thanks for the suggestion on the bustle! I really do love the look of this dress, my only concern was having all that material in the back

Number 1 is the most flattering to your figure and the back could not be more beautiful. Plus, number 3 looks hard to walk in.

I'd have to say #1 as well. The back is beautiful. Plus out of the three it looks the best on you in my opinion.

I was a bit worried about all the extra material as well, but it seemed to be fine. I bustled it after about 50 pictures. I love them all (I tried on that Vera and it was one I was considering). The only issue with #1, while it's absolutely stunning, is that the satin seems wintery for a FL keys wedding. I would probably stick with silk because it's so light. The satin is tough to tavel with, it would definitely need to be steamed right before the wedding because wrinkles show up easier. You don't notice it as much with the silk.

I like #3 followed closely by #1. It kinda depends on the look you are trying to achieve. If you want more splash I'd choose #1, but if you are going for understated #3 would be my choice. As far as whether you are *late* in choosing a dress, don't worry about that. The right bridal salon will work with you to get everything done. I got married in April of this year and didn't start dress shopping until January. Everyone was saying I was *late* also, but I had absolutely no problem finding a dress, ordering it and having the alterations done in time. So in comparison to me you are way ahead of the game!! I wondered about that as well whether the material will be too heavy for a summery keys wedding, especially b/c it's a double-faced(?) satin...but it's sooo soft I love it! My original "perfect" dress was this one from Jim Hjelm but I couldn't find it anywhere in south florida http://www.jimhjelmvisions.com/jim_br/display_dress.php?imageno=8709&multimatch=x

All are beautful dresses, but I have to go with #3 hands DOWN! #1 is beautiful at the back, just amazing. STUNNING! But....from the front something bothers me. The cut, or the bust area cut, not sure. If you can bustle the back of #3 like that it's just perfect. It really compliments your perfect proportions! The back of #1, oh man, just for the back it's just gorgeous. But #3. Yes, that's my vote!

I have a Rivini and love it. The fabric is just obscene. But honestly... with the $$ you'd save? I'd go for number three... I think it's just as flattering on you, and really looks great to walk in. I got my Rivini as a store sample, so it was cost effective. I wouldn't have paid full price for it, because I too had gowns that looked just as nice on me, for less.

The details on #1 remind me of the crown jewels. I see the tiara and family crest in the scroll work. It has such regalia. The back is so wonderful...(any way to get that monster clamp thrown in?) If that was your only choice I would say YES. but there is more to my opinion.... The #2 is once again stunning the intricate work on it flows on you as it would if it were custom made. When the skirt flares it has a bit of light airy princess ballroom style that is really something. If this was your only choice...it would be great. But there is more.... The #3 dress seems to fit you like a glove...and not a gardeners glove. We are talking operatic glove. It has a beautiful neckline and showcases your shoulders. The placement of the top seems just right. Your waist is highlighted. The folds of the fabric look so richly detailed...but then this is where THIS ONE stands out from the others...your FIGURE is front and center. You still get a full skirt but some how this dress showcases ALL OF YOU!! Revealed is a mermaid figure...with rich folds of material. No need for embellishments...the focal point is YOU and your VaVaVoom figure. Okay...so I really love all of the them. You picked some winners!! I mean real winners. But THREE for ME!! DKS
