Hey PSrs-

A good friend of mine received an older family Tiffany & Co engagement ring, while I think it is beautiful (rb), she wants side stones and wants to know if T&CO will re-design it?

Does any one have a clue if they do this? I thought I would ask you all first...

Sure as long as it is a verified piece, and here are the facts:

1)  Must be stamped T&Co (stamp, marking, signature design, etc
(there’s an entire department who verifies these things)
2)  The diamond can be reused in a new design.
3)  It takes a while and the price… well, its Tiffany and don't expect it to be anything close to an online jeweler price...

The process is as follows:

- Ring is brought to retail branch.
- Ring is shipped to Valuations for verification to find the stamp if it is present.
- Once verified as TCO, customer is called in to discuss with Custom Design what the new setting will be.

Very rare (and I repeat VERY RARE), but OCCASIONALLY customer-owned non tiffany diamonds can be used. Only if the customer is valued or the stone is substantial (I believe over 3ct) or rare in some way that can not be procured normally.  Like a Golconda certified stone, or something rare...

You may have to use the center stone as the sides, or they may shoot it down. They will find the stones for center and the other side to match from their own stock of stones, as they provide stones for their own rings, again about 98% of the time.  Anything contrasting that would be up to the Powers That Be, being the VP...

Nicrez-

Thank you so much for your help, I will pass this on to her...I personally wouldn't do anything to it (I love her ring)...God knows I have been through enough e-rings to last more than a few lifetimes...Although, I always wanted a three-stone EC

Could she have a wrap type ring made to add side stone and leave the original intact, like WOOOO's new wrap?
