Hi everyone, I LOVED the Michael B 3 sided pave princess ring. I am putting a 2.5 round carat diamond in the center and was wondering if anyone knew what the width of the (shank) setting/band was. I have been heargin between 2.5-3mm. Do you think that will look good and what will look better with the 2.5 carat center stone--either 2.5 mm or 3mm. Also, my ring size is a 5. Thanks in advance for your hlep! Julie

I'm pretty sure it's 2.5 mm. but I'd call your jeweler to be sure. Pearlmans has pretty good detailed descriptions of michael b on their site so might want to check there too. I think a 2.5 carat round would be stunning in that setting no matter which width of the band..

Michael B has 2 versions of the 3 sided pave ring. One is called has the word "Petit" in it and it is the thinner version of the regular 3 sided setting. I have the Petite version with a 1.20 carat radiant and it looks great. I remember when I got my ring that I did notice a difference from the "regular" 3 sided that I tried on versus the "petit" version that I actually got. I think there are some guidelines from Michael B as to which size stones go in which version. Your 2.5 carat will look fabulous in either setting. From Pearlman's website: Item: 48P1 - This petite platinum 3-sided princess pave ring with diamond prongs and tips is designed by Michael B. This elegant ring is set with 171 diamonds at 1.20cts. and is 2.2mm wide. Item: 42P1 - Platinum Michael B 3 sided pave with diamond prongs for square diamonds. The 2.5mm width is set with 153 diamonds weighing 1.44ct

Hi, I do not know if this makes a differnence but mine is not the diamond tipped, its just the 3 sided pave Princess. Does that matter?

I think the width of the 3 sided princes is 2.5 whether it has diamond tips or not but you could call your jeweler or Pearlman's to be sure. Are you going to get the matching wedding band?

Yes, I have really not looked into wedding bands yet but I think the matching one will look great! What do you think?

I have the petite princess e-ring and wedding ring. I love my set. Your total width for both rings then would be 4.4 or 5 depending on whether you go with the petit or regular princess version. That would be something to think about. There were a lot of posts awhile back about 2 3--sided pave rings rubbing against each other. I haven't had any problems yet but you might want to go back and read some of those posts or ask your jeweler about it.
