We are engaged! It happened yesterday (Saturday). We had planned a weekend at Banff, Canada. We rented this AMAZING hotel/room where we had a fireplace, a loft bedroom, a deck, and our own kitchen...it was just perfect (the weekend as a whole). It happened as we were going up the Gondola(ski lift? that is designed to allow you to see the mountains/view). It was him and I in our cart - and he asked me! !!! YAY! As for the ring, long story short, he had it ordered/made and some of it was customized and so, it was supposed to be ready for Friday- but when it came in on Friday, it had not been sized yet!!! :O So, when the guy called D, he asked what to do- should he re-send it on a rush so it could get done for Monday, or did D want to come pick it up and then bring it back Monday to have it sized for later in the week. Well D chose to have it sent back then- knowing that he could explain this to me, WITH the idea of getting the ring back sooner (and on my birthday no less!) So, tomorrow I should have my ring! What did he do? He picked up a ring at Banff (a silver moonstone ring- just so we could use it as a "memento")... anyways it was perfect! We took a picture right after- and at the Gondola's gift shop, we bought a tacky frame (porcelaine that has a gondola and "Banff Gondola" written on it...) I loved the idea of having that picture framed in something like that! And we got a mini snow globe with a gondola cart in it - since I am going to be collecting snow globes, couldn't be any more perfect!! It was great... we live 3000 miles from our friends/family - so we called my family/his family and then sent txt's to the closer friends we wanted to find out FIRST before all the words got around! So, this week- I basically have to call everyone with the story! haha. In any case, me now being engaged means that the majority of the ladies are going to move up a number (whether you think that's a good thing or not, I wish you ALL the best of luck)! I was on the list for 2 years- so trust me when I say I "feel your stress"- because being on the LIST doesn't mean that's when my waiting started! You'll get some pictures asap! :) As for the wedding, we're thinking MAYBE next summer- if not the one after.. but I'm hoping for next summer.. its just we're so far from where it'll be.. we'll have to see!

I spent a whole summer in Banff (climbing glaciers, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, etc) and fell in LOVE with the place. I told myself I would move to Canmore or Calgary (which is about an hour from Banff) when I was older. We moved to Calgary about a month ago... the proposal couldn't have been at a better place (Banff) since it's my favorite place...ever! I am thrilled!

Bee* - hahahahah, yes this is exaaaaactly how I felt all along my stay on the list. It was as if at one point I was #15 and then I suddenly became #3.. I've been at #3 forever.. it seems that once you reach near the bottom of the list you don't tend to move much... And SB- you are right, the list didn't seem to move too much within the last little while- this is a "significant" move since it affects almost everyone on the list.. but, hopefully for you ladies it won't take as long as it took me! Miscka,- yeah, D is a darling. We got a moonstone ring for the stand in because I liked the "concept" of that stone (plus the wait for the actual ring was like 2 days, so I didn't want to go put in another 500$ for something I probably won't wear) haha, I got a document from the jeweler on what moonstone meant, and it kind of fit the bill to what we wanted, it was sweet! To all the ladies, thank you sooo much- I didn't post as much as some, but that was my way of coping with the fact that I was moving so quickly down the list! haha, I have kept tabs on most of you and will continue to do so.. I hope your stays aren't anywhere near the 2 year mark.

I took some pictures, but same as everyone..they never turn out great (I kinda took the pictures in the span of 5 seconds to send them to my mom so she could see hehe) Monarch, haha yeah- I figured updating any time that I thought it might happen would only result in me getting disappointed. It happened once, where I thought he was going to do it and it TOTALLY ruined the trip for me, so I definitely wanted this weekend to be about relaxing!! I am thrilled as well, seems like I have been there forever- and yeah, I could see why you are surprised (but in the "good" way, if that makes any sense?) haha We're actually thinking of having a wedding for NEXT summer :\| oh my, haha. we'll see. it will be a bit more challenging to plan the wedding since I live on the west coast now, but it will be on the east coast annnnnnnnnnd.okay, I just tried to put some pics up and it didn't work- I know it has to do with size etc, and i promise i will spend more time tomorrow- SO. i will work at getting better pics, and uploading SOMETHING! thanks everyone, for all the well wishes!!
