Hi Everyone!! I am a newbie, and this is my very first post ![]() I discovered PS last week, and can't stop coming back here! I am amazed and impressed at what I have read! Everyone here seems incredibly informed and very complimentary. So, here's the deal... I have never been truly satisfied with my Ering setting (I picked it myself), and want something different. I have a three stone ring (pictures attached), emerald center with half moon side stones. The center is 1.72 and the sides total .94. I feel that the side stones "take away" from the center stone. I want something that will show off the center and is more dainty and feminine than what I have. After stalking this site for the past week, I was immediately hooked on Leon Mege rings. I never knew such beauty existed. Anyway, I got over excited today and called him for some suggestions. I told him I wanted a micro pave setting, and gave him these two examples: http://www.artofplatinum.com/4images/details.php?image_id=367 http://www.artofplatinum.com/4images/details.php?image_id=76 He told me that the Gina setting looks best on a larger stone and that the "821" setting looks best on rounder stones. He suggested this: http://www.artofplatinum.com/4images/details.php?image_id=60 Do you think that this setting will give me the feminine look I am craving? He said emerald cuts look best with an art deco look... HELP???? |

I think he gave you some good advice and I would trust his artistic instincts and experience. However, I would also think about your interests and whether you like the setting he suggested and think that you would be really happy with it. All of them are beautiful and honestly I think any of them would look awesome with your stone.

I have a weakness for half moons and so I am going to say keep it a 3 stone (BTW, if you want to sell those half moons I'm in the market )! Haa haa, but really if you want a solitaire and something that will make your center emerald stand out on its own a halo (what Leon suggested) is not the way I would go. If your goal really is to get your center stone to be the object of attention you will want a simple setting that does not take away from it.... what is it that you really want? __________________________________________________________ |

As long as you're looking, I'd have to add Maytal Hanna's gorgeous setting for an emerald cut: http://www.maytalhannah.com/ I am not seeing it in the collection section, but if you wait, it'll show up on the homepage. ![]()

I'm currently having a custom ring made by Maytal, and she is so nice and easy to work with. Worth taking a look at her designs as well.
