Hi ladies!

Happy Friday!!  I have been growing my hair for a long time now.  Not specifically in anticipation of a wedding (but the thought has crossed my mind).  Now that I’ve got locks in the middle of my back, I am finding that not only am I tired of all this hair but it is so long I am unable to do most of the funkier styles I liked to do.  I keep gravitating towards cutting it.

I am pretty sure I am on boy time for a proposal.  So, it goes without saying a wedding probably wouldn’t happen until late 2008 or 2009 (and that is being generous).  I’d have about a year to grow out a shorter style….so what do ya’ll think?  Should I go ahead and chop it all off today or just have them take a few inches off?  You should probably know I’m not afraid of huge style changes.  I have been known to go from long to short, from blonde to red head, from curly to straight all on a whim.

It sounds to me that you are unsure about what you really want to do with your hair, so in which case I wouldn't do anything drastic, just get them to cut a decent amount off to kill the boredom, but not enough that you are stuck growing out a short style forever!

Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on because an enormous part of his owner's heart, soul, very existence dies also...but that can never be laid to rest, it is not meant to be...

i say chop it!

i did the same thing....grew it out long "just in case". got tired of it. wasn't sure what to do....but i ended up cutting it all off anyways. it might sound stupid, but it gave me a sense of freedom! like i was doing just what i wanted to do, and wasn't waiting for anything that was out of my control. so cut it - you'll have plenty of time to grow it out long enough for most updos, and if not, there are always extensions!

besides, if you are sick of it being long now, imagine not changing it for another two years.....you'll probably be so sick of it you'll chop it off a month before the wedding!

YAAHHH!!!! My entire life I hve had long hair. Up until about a year and a half ago I kept it between my shoulders and mid back. Last year I grew it almost to the bottom of my back. As great as it looked when I really 'did' it, it was a pain on the days that I wasn't up for doing it. On a surprise trip home to see my Mom for mothers day I went with her to a hair appt she had and we ended up cutting it and donating 13 inches. It felt so good! I absolutely love the shorter cut, and I never thought I would!! So congrats on the cut...I know it's exciting!

Go ahead and cut it. That is what i did a month ago. Boy am i glad, easy to care for, can be worn in many different styles. BUT most importantly NEVER do something just for a man. Do what makes you happy and he will be thrilled that you are so happy. This advice from a 60 year old who has been there and done that...

Yay, glad you love the shorter hair!
And that's great about donating it too!

I'm definitely an advocate for having whatever hair length you want!

Im not sure if you should cut or not! I've had hair nearly down to my bum for my entire life and I'd be so scared to cut it! If it's annoying you than you should definitely cut it though.
