I wanted to get some opinions on this stone:

REPORT NUMBER: 13630774

Emerald Cut

5.17 x 3.73 x 2.61mm

.46carats

VS2 clarity

H color

No Flour

Depth 70%

Table 71%

Girdle STK

Culet NONE

Polish EXCELLENT

Symmetry GOOD

I know the "Good" Symmetry grade is probably a put off to some, but I am wondering what people's opinions are.

Thanks!

We need to see pics of said stone, posh.  Table size could be too large (this coming from a girl with a large-tabled EC herself and loves it) and also it could be too deep, resulting in a stone that appears smaller than its size b/c the carat weight could be taken up by its depth.  Also, a 'good' symmetry rating might be problematic.  I have 'good' polish and was looking for at least a 'very good'.  But it's fine.  What I've learned in my searching is that it's important to have pictures and to see it with your own two eyes.  Can  you get some images?

Unfortunately the seller does not have the greatest pics... here are the best ones:

PP in this selling situation unless she can provide you with close up good quality photos so you can see the diamond more clearly, then you may have to rely on your own eyes as best you can with the info available.  Have you been looking for an EC, or just saw this one and liked it? GIA report?

The picture close up enough to be able to make out any details.  A close shot showing the details of the steps and a side shot would be very helpful.  The 70% depth and table is something I'd be cautious about, in addition to the Good symmetry.

I have always liked EC stones... this one kinda just happened along and it seems like a good deal @ $600 shipped.  Also the stone does come with a GIA report (there was a report number at the top with the other info) and the seller has a picture of the GIA report also.

This is what I was thinking also.  I just wanted some confirmation I guess.  I will try to ask the seller for better photos.

Thanks everyone!

It sounds like a classic style EC. large table fairly deep.
The problem is that depth don't tell you a lot, a deeper properly angled pavilion is a million times better than a shallower overly bulging pavilion or worse a deep bulging pavilion.

Symmetry grade of GOOD might or might not be an issue, with EX polish it sounds like a facet might be a little off, which facet? some will matter a lot and some not as much.

Need some pics.

I have requested some close ups of the stone from the seller.

Thanks for the advice strmrdr, hopefully the seller will provide more pics and someone can give me advice off of the new pics.

Whats the return policy and or can you see it before you buy?
private seller or store?
there arent a lot of comps but $600 seems like a good price.

I think I'd do it for $600 if you want it and can afford it.

It is an ebay purchase and the seller has 100% feedback.  Also there is a return period with a full money back (minus shipping) policy.

Thanks for the advice everyone
