First I just want to say thanks to everyone who has given me advice and ideas so far!!  I am slowly narrowing down my search.

What do you think of this ring?  I am looking for something classy and elegant but a bit different from the norm.  All opinions welcome!! I will not be able to try on the setting before I buy as I do not live in the US so some feedback from fellow jewelery lovers would be very welcome.

My ring size is 6.5 - do you think this setting will provide good finger coverage?

I am thinking of setting it with a 1.2ish ACA rb.

Here is a link to turtledazzle who bought this setting so that you can see what it looks like in real life.

I love baguettes with a round... very elegant, timeless... and with a little extra flash from the baguettes... nice!

1.2c is a very NICE sized stone, imho. I'm really not into the super huge boulders.

I love Speyer settings, and the company is so nice (I contracted them a couple of times about a setting I was considering)... And Turtle's setting is so lovely and classic. I think it's a fabulous choice. Classic yet unique. Love it.

Thanks Sera and Gypsy, I really like the setting but it is soooo hard to judge without actually seeing it on our own finger.

What do you think of the prongs?  Turtledazzle changed the prongs to claw shape - I think it looks prettier.  I'd rather that the prongs were not really noticeable and they really seem to stand out in the original setting.

I def think this is the ring for me, its the only one I've stuck with for longer than a week.  There are so many beautiful settings out there!!

Turtledazzle if you are out there I would love to see more pictures of your ring!

When I spoke to Marie at GOG about the prongs on the Speyer setting I was considering there was a LOT they coudl do with them. I would call her and ask her about the changing the prongs. It's something they can do when they get the setting... the prongs are sent workably big, and can be modified in many ways at that point. GOG was BEYOND helpful to me when I was considering a Speyer setting and I would not at all hesitate to tell you to contact them. They were just fabulous. And their pricing was spot on for the setting (I called around), as low as it was offered.
