I would like to wear my Tiffany Swing bracelet with my Rolex watch, but I am concerned that it will scratch the crystal.  Have those of you who wear a bracelet with your watch had any problems with one damaging the other???

HI Sundial:

I've had no problems with the crystal, but with the stainless steel bracelet on my watch. It dulls more quickly after polishing when I wear braelets (together) on that wrist.....

cheers--Sharon

Hi Sundial,

I've never had a problem with a crystal scratching from wearing a bracelet next to my watch and I do it all the time.

I sometimes wear a 14k bracelet on the same wrist as my stainless watch & the watch has gotten scraped up because of it; now i wear the bracelet on my right wrist... the watch face is fine tho, no scratches...

Thanks so much for your input Sharon, Michelle, and Alexah!  I knew you gals would have the scoop on this.  I'm glad the crystals don't get scratched, but I never even thought about the band.  However my watch has the two tone jubilee style bracelet that has all those little links so the scratches probably wouldn't show up that much.  I think I'll just give it a try.

I have worn my heart  tag tiffany bracelet with my tag watch for 10 years 24/7. No scratching what so ever!

Same as katebar here:  I've been wearing my heart tag toggle Tiffany bracelet with my Tag watch for about 6 months now and haven't had any problems with the bracelet scratching the crystal.  Even the stainless bracelet part of the Tag watch seems fine...it looks just as shiny and non-scratched as when i received it two years ago!

Here's a pic. It's not always this bracelet, though.

Hi!  I've worn my tennis bracelet with my Rolex.  The bracelet is channel set, so there was no danger of scratching the crystal or the yellow gold on the watch.  I think it would depend on how the tennis bracelet is set.  If it's a shared prong setting, the girdles or other facets on the diamonds might scratch the gold on the watch.

I appreciate your comments MB!  The bracelet I want to wear with my watch has tiny diamonds kind of bezel set into the design so I am thinking it will be okay.

I've worn a simple bracelet with my watch for years, no problems.  Currently (the last two years), the bracelet of choice has been a flat link sterling which is completely smooth; nothing to scratch the watch with.

I would feel naked without the bracelet -- I swear to you, I think I started the trend!  Or maybe I was just "cutting edge"!   Back in 1984 on my 25th B-Day, I got a gold-toned tank style Seiko watch from my parents, and I bought a 14K flat link bracelet to wear with it.  What did we call those chains?  Snake?

I would worry more about the metal scratching metal on your bracelets, versus the bracelet scratching the crystal of your watch as it is most likely a sapphire scratch resistant crystal...
