Hi,

I'm new to this site and overwhelmed with all this amazing info. I apologize if this question is in another thread. I have found my dream engagement ring setting at a B&M. The ring is not designer (store's design I believe).

It is platinum RB with round side stones. The quality doesn't look very good and seems overpriced. I would like to have the exact ring made. They won't allow pictures so how do I convey what it looks like to someone who may not be in the local area? I do know the style number from the B&M. Is there a way for jewelers to look up what a ring looks like from another jeweler given a style number?

I would love to hear your suggestions, and appreciate any help.

The B&M does not have a website, and I have search high and low for a similar ring on the net and have found zilch. What I like about the ring is the thinness of the band and the ratio size of the side stones to the center stone.

We do not have anyone in mind to make our ring yet but considering resources recommended thru PS.

Thank you!

If there isn't a way to get a picture, you could search the vendors here... there are a lot of great choices and maybe you would find something you like as well or even better. If not, maybe you would find bits and pieces that you could get photos of and then give those to a vendor who could take all that info and put a custom ring together for you.

yea, and you can always describe what you are hunting for, or I guess even draw up a picture of a ring you would like and get a good idea using that. Also, the ratio between sidestones is just a matter of the ct weight of each diamond. So that can easily be found with pretty much anybody, just adjust ct weight accordingly, its the actual metal that would be unique, and how it holds the diamonds, the look and ratio of the diamonds is just a matter of which ones you choose.

If you really want that particular ratio you can ask the jewelers there for the ct weight of each stone, and then the cut information. One way or another that will lead you to the exact mm ratio, even if they didnt want to tell you. Also, consider how high the ring is off the finger.
