Hi Everyone! I have a question...have any of you seen this Tacori ring? Link to the Ring I have only found it on the Arthur's Jewelers website. I was wondering if anyone has bought it or has a picture of it? It is not even on Tacori's website. It is set with a Round stone, but I am going to set it with an Asscher. Please let me know. Thanks! I haven't seen it in person, but before you get your heart set on it, I would call Tacori and ask if it can be set with an Asscher...they are quite different shapes.

Uh oh ... I think I see another "round stone in a square hole" situation coming ... only the reverse ... square stone in round hole. Are you wanting an asscher stone set into a ROUND HALO?? Or are they telling you that the halo will be OCTAGONAL on the "asscher version" of the ring??? I'd be *VERY* cautious about communicating EXACTLY what you want. Maybe Deejay will weigh in with advice!!

The halo is not round if you look at it closely...it is more square, but the corners are rounded off...kind of like the Tiffany legacy ring. Legacy Ring

They only picture a fraction of the designs they make on the website. That is true of many designers. That is a very beautiful design, though.

Thank you very much! I found another picture of the ring with a pave band set with a princess cut. I have always leaned towards having a pave band but something is so pretty about the gold polished band. Which one do you guys like?? Princess Cut Tacori Pave Ring

they are both beautiful, but there is something that really appeals to me about the first. i, too, love a little polished metal to highlight the diamond and the skin, but one thing to consider/keep in mind is that (if going with platinum) that polished effect will not last especially long. not to worry, it is easily brought back with a polishing, but the princess one with diamonds will always sparkle/shimmer whereas the first one with metal will always need polishing to maintain that nice shine. if going white gold, it seems the shine lasts, but depending upon your chemistry can yellow over time. again, no worries, a replating fixes that. just some things to consider. so if you don't mind a little maintenance, i vote for the first design! but if you don't want to worry about a little wear, then the second one, because of the diamonds, will probably maintain it's original sparkling appearance.

Thanks for you advice! I would get it in 18k WG. I love the first one and I know I want a diamond wedding band and I think the first would look great with the diamond band. But...I have always been more attracted towards pave bands. So, long term I think I might like the pave better. Oh so many things to think about! :)

Ironically I stopped in at a local jewelry store to see if they could steam clean the gunk out of my grandmothers ring today, and they had this one. It is very pretty in person, but the halo was a bit jagged if that makes sense. It wasn't smooth like the legacy, so if that's the look you like, this isn't it. There is hardly any metal between the stones, so it doesn't have a smooth edge like the legacy. But it sure was pretty!

Thank you for checking! I am actually in the process of having an octagonal halo made and I was looking more of a side view for it...which I LOVE the Tacori one. But then my jeweler said if I liked the Tacori one that she could just order that one (I think she is being lazy about it)...so I am going to see it tomorrow. I am worried that I will like the smoother look of the other one with the more rounded out corners long term. The octagonal halo is a little trendy right now. I am afraid I might get a little tired of the octagonal halo. The rounded corners is so much more feminine. What do you guys think? These are the renderings of the ring that my jeweler gave me: I don't know if I should just get the Tacori or just insist they do the side view more like the Tacori side view. ![]()

I'd get the Tacori and know what you're getting. I like the one without the pave band best. You can get a diamond wedding band!

I'm gonna have to go and hunt this one down now. LOL. It's beautiful, and has a lot of potential as a setting for an asscher. Nice choice! http://www.arthursjewelers.com/jewelscart2000/store/jewelscart2000_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10261 It's A LOT like the other plain shanked halo tacori I really liked. Only the side view is much nicer. I really love this one from side view.

Thank you! I LOVE the side view also...It's the prettiest I have seen. I don't know why I am obsessing so much about the side view but it is really important to me. I have always told my boyfriend that it is almost as important to me as how it looks from the top. My asscher is a .91, so I think having the halo will really enhance it. Tacori has always been my fave jewelry designer. I have been looking for the perfect engagement ring for about 8 months now and it first began with Tacori. It will be a little ironic if I end up getting a Tacori! :)

Not to confuse you at ALL. I like this setting a lot, and the side view is really lovely (which is why I'm sold on it too). But have you looked at any Beverly K settings? Also has great vintage style... although is a little closer to Beaudry than Tacori in style. It's Carl Blackburn's "affordable" jewelry line. There are a few of them that would really do great things for your asscher as well.

Tacori will do any custom changes you want so that should not be a problem. My setting was designed for a RB but they changed it for an EC at no extra cost. I think I may have seen this one in person, though it might have just been a similar one. The halo was SO delicate and very beautiful. If you go to a store that carries Tacori they have a whole binder full of photos and should be able to order a sample for you to see in person.

Date: 8/26/2007 8:57:25 PM The side view is SO obsessively important to me too; I totally know what you're saying! Author: violetrose262 Thank you! It may not look so in the pic, but it is actually very delicate and feminine.. the diamonds (on the side too which I LOVE!!!) are soooo tiny BUT each of those tiny rocks sparkle SO much it's amazing!!! A wedding band would rub against it, so I sadly had it put back in the case... but it was stunning! And I totally loved that lil dash o' pink gold and diamonds on the side. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

violetrose, I'm so happy you found the perfect setting! ![]() I was planning on getting the same setting but with baguette side stones. (I really wrestled between it and the one you chose with the pave band! So lovely!!) Did you happen to see/try the baguette side stone setting on? I've been hoping to hear of a real-life viewing of it! ![]() Kathy |

No, I never did see that one Kathy, but it sounds really pretty. I just saw the ones with the plain polished band taht had a princess cut stone and the pave band which had a round stone. Which ring did you decide to get and are they making it for you now?

Hi violetrose! Thanks for your reply. ![]() I'm 99.9% sure I'm getting the one with the baguettes. (Here it is at Solomon Bros., if you'd like to see a pic: http://www.solomonbrothers.com/Search/JewelrySearchDetails.asp?sSKU=102469) I was hoping that perhaps you'd seen it in real life as extra confirmation. ![]() I haven't sent the stone to be set yet, but will soon. Six weeks is a long time to wait, eh? Excited to see your ring! It'll be wonderful!! Kathy |

Have you checked out the Arthur's Jewelers website, Kathy? They seem to have practically every Tacori ring from all different angles. I am sure that you could call them or Tacori and tell them you really want ot get the ring but just want to see more pics of it. I think if you see more pics you will be totally sure taht is the ring you want. It's really beautiful though!
