I may have the opportunity to purchase an antique ring equipped with a miners cut rock. I think it is also called european cut. Do the same 4cs apply to these cut stones? What is the difference in a stone cut like this. I imagine the brilliance of the stone isn't as magnificent as the same stone cut with todays technology. Am I correct in assuming this? I'm kind of a fan of the old way of doing things so I may be interested in this antique but would I be missing out on something by purchasing the older stone? What to you-all think? I guess I need some opinions/answers. thanks. |

I'm a big fan of them and think they have a peerless charm. Do a search for "Old Mine" and you should pull up quite a few recent threads.
