I am looking for "real life" pics of this cushion pattern. I realize each cushion is different so the more pics the better!  I won't be buying anytime soon but it looks like this pattern is pretty common so I was wondering how many people have it. I have been looking through the posts on PS but I haven't found any yet. I would also be interested in hearing people's opinions who have seen this pattern in real life. I'm thinking it SHOULDN'T give a crushed ice appearance (like the modified cushion with the little x in it) but it won't be as "chunky" as the 8 pav main Cushion Brilliant? Would it be somewhere in between? Thanks a bunch for quelching my curiosity.

Hi blingergrrrl, Great question.  I wish I could say I have one of those beauties.... (All in good time, my pretty, all in good time!)  I just saw the most beautiful example of one last weekend in Scottsdale, though.  It was at one of those REALLY expensive jewelers where they look you up and down for an eternity before buzzing you in the door.  Anyway, it was a 3.07 Cushion Brilliant Kotlar Branded Cushion, and it was gorgeous.  How to describe it... not at ALL crushed ice for one thing.  This cushion was a squarish example (8.63 x 8.28!!), H, SI1, Strong Fluor, VG, VG... and it was so white!  Made a 'fluor believer' out of me for sure.  All in all, the diamond just sparkled so nicely - not huge chunky flashes, but more subtle flashes.  It just looked so feminine (if diamonds can be described that way!) and all I wanted to do was stare at it.  (Oh, and grab it and run!) It was set in a pendant with micropave bail... mama like....  Anyway, for what it's worth... I'd take one in a heartbeat.  Although I hope that the $58,000 price tag included a whopping premium for the "Kotlar Cushion" branding, or I won't be getting one in this lifetime.  I got a copy of the GIA cert specifically to determine what the pavillion arrangement was and it is the 4 pav you're asking about.  I was kindof surprised to see the Depth at 63.8% and Table of 64%, though.  Kindof a strange combo, wouldn't you say?  Also FWIW, they DID have the crushed ice variety going under the name Kotlar Cushions, I believe there was a 10 ct., but as I was blinded by the ice storm, can't say for sure.

Mine has that pattern.  Here's where I posted my engagement announcement on SMTR.  If these aren't what you a looking for let me know and I will try to get some additional shots for you.

Here's another topic I created about the sparkle changing once the stone was set.  Mine seemed to change some...smaller sparkles, maybe, maybe leaning toward crushed ice...at least sometimes.  I need to go look at some radiants to compare side by side.

Tanks lizardofaz, Ice Store and Dianne!

Lizardofaz, thanks for the input! I went to the Kotler webpage but it's still hard to see the facets on their cushions.
Oh yeah, and thanks. After seeing your avatar I have that "lollypop kids" song stuck in my head...argh!

Dianne, I remember you posting that you had this facet plot but that you couldn't get clear pictures of it...I don't suppose you've been able to get some now, have you? I didn't want to bother you in case you couldn't!! So weird that the sparkle changed once it was set!

BTW, I found this at www.antiqueengagementrings.com: Is this what it looks like in real life for those that have this facet pattern?

Ice Store, what I wouldn't give to see a nice clear video of this facet pattern! :) thanks for directing me to that ring.

No bother at all.  I'll see what I can do.  I can't seem to get good pics up close like others I have seen on this site.  May be the camera...may be the camera operator   Let me try this weekend.

Beautiful ring you found!!
