My husband's 30 year class reunion is coming up. He's from a small town in southern Illinois. Very conservative...so convervative that there won't even be alchohol at the dinner. The dinner is at a local country club on a 9 hole golf course. I am told that people don't really dress up much for this so a full-out cocktail style dress would be way over the top. My husband and I just got married in 2005 so I have never met most of these people. I'm 12 years younger than DH so I want to appear current and youthful without being too fashion-forward. The color black does not look good on me so I'm searching for a non-black dress. My best colors are blues & greens. The reunion is in late Sept so it will probably still be fairly warm. I want something with my shoulders covered at least because I tend to get cold in AC and don't want to have to deal with a pashima all night. So, I found this dress on Nordstrom.com. What do you think? Other suggestions.

I love that dress! I think its PERFECT for what you're describing. It reminds me of a dress I'm ordering from vicky's, which could be an option. It's $65. It's not here yet or I'd tell you how it looks. Have fun at the reunion!

I decided to go ahead and order the green print dress from Nordstrom. I like prints and the color so hopefully it fits. I think I will probably wear neutral shoes (either a burnished gold/silver or possibly a nude tan type color). But what sort of jewelery would look best? Should I wear a necklace? If yes, what type?

Not a collar necklace. Something that falls in a V shape to play up the V of the dress. Pretty dress. I hope you have a good time.
