I have been looking around for a 1ct radiant diamond. I found three that look ok, but I'm not sure. Can someone do a diamcalc on these so I know which one is the better cut and loses less light.

#1. 7.33x5.40x3.35 1.12 ct F, VS2 Depth:62%, Table:67.2%, Girdle:exth-thick, Culet:n, Flor:M Blue, Polish:gd,
Sym: gd, Crown A:35.8%, Crown H:10.5, Pav A:53.7, Pav D:47.4
Note: Did not look milky in the sun
Had alot of brill

#2. 7.54x5.30x3.51 1.14 ct D, SI1 Depth:66.2, Table:64.3, Girdle:th-slthick, Culet:n, Flor:none, Polish:vg, Sym:gd, Crown A:35.6%, Crown H:12.9, Pav A:53, Pav D:50.6%
Note: Had a lot of brill

#3. 6.37x5.23x3.39 .94 ct G, VS2 Depth:64.8%, Table:64, Girdle:th-med, Culet:n, Flor:none, Polish:gd, Sym:gd,
Crown A:33.5%, Crown H:11.8, Pav A:44.6, Pav D:51.9
Note: Less brill/noticed more despersion of colors
....Also, I noticed bow tie effect on this one
and not the other ones, why?
Thanks,
I can get as much help as possible!!

I am not an expert, but I would not go with #1 due to the girdle exthin to thick. Firstly, learning through this site buyers should stay away from extrememly thin especially with pointed cuts like princess and radiant due to possibility of chipping when setting. Also exthin to thick is a big jump in girdle.

Other than that advice, we will wait for the experts to comment.

PS I love radiants and princesses, good choice!!!!!!!!!!!!

From your physical examination, it appears you like
#1 and #2 for high brilliance. Based on my research,
the pavillion angles and depths for these two stones
suggest that they may be taking a hit on dispersion
and scintillation even though crown heights are very good.
It is difficult to give a full accurate assessment without
a light-output and light leakage analysis. Good brilliance with shortcomings in dispersion and scintillation
will result in less than optimal performance in direct
and low-light conditions.

As far as #3 is concerned, contrary to accepted trade
dogma and concomitant dissemination to
the public, a bow-tie is not necessarily a bad thing
as it affects dispersion. In the best case scenario,
you are looking for a diamond that has a harmonious
blend of brilliance, dispersion, and scintillation;
very difficult to achieve especially in Fancy shapes.
Of the three, I'd rather take the hit on brilliance
and max on dispersion and scintillation.

Thanks for your reply Barry.

Do you or anyone else think that the third cut is better than the others? I don't mind that #3 has less brilliance, but I want to make sure its a good cut.

Looking forward to replys!
