I'm new here and don't know near as much as everyone else does about diamonds. But, I've gotten many pieces of jewelry from Helzberg.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, the quality is just not good enough for the price. I've also been told by appraisers that I paid way too much for my pear shaped diamond. I've had to have my diamond prongs redone three times on my center stone, and several times on a sidestone. In fact, last month a baguette fell out again. I also have a channel set ring that I've had to have worked on twice. These were not bargains, and were in their "best" category. (Also, I've moved quite a distance from the nearest. Since they will only allow your "warranty" to stay in effect if they do any repairs, it's been difficult.)

I have three sets of diamond earrings that I've had no trouble with, and a three stone necklace (princess) that have been fine. I don't know why I've had such trouble with the rings, though. I don't even wear my rings everyday. I never wear them while doing dishes or anything. SO, my advice would be to have the item independently appraised if you decide to purchase from there. If memory serves, I believe you have a 30 day return for full refund. If you get it appraised elsewhere, they can tell you if you have your money's worth and if there is anything faulty in the workmanship.

I am looking for a radiant diamond myself. I love them. I hope you find exactly what you're looking for. Good Luck!

The effect of having more facets changes the look of the diamond, but does not necessarily improve its light performance.  The flashes of white and coloured light (brilliance & fire) will be smaller.  In a smaller stone (under 1ct), it will look very "busy".  You are also paying $$$ for their branding.

My preference is to stick to a regular cut radiant (assuming this is what the lady wants) and to buy a well cut stone.  Being well cut will give you the sparkle, not the amount the facets it has.  To do so, I'd advice to stay away from chain type mall stores.  Your best bet is the mom & pop type jewellery store or reputable online stores (GoodOldGold in NY, EngagementRingDirect in NYC, Whiteflash in TX, JamesAllen).

I bought my channel set anniversary band at Helzberg's many years ago.  Recently I was in the store to have it cleaned and inspected, and the clerk commented on how nice the quality was compared to what they are selling today.  She pulled out the anniversary band that they currently are selling and the diamonds are so included that they were grey.

Needless to say, my days of making diamond purchases in mall stores like Helzberg's are long over.  You can get top quality over the Internet for a better price.  A no-brainer!

Are you talking about the Radiant Star diamond line, or a radiant-cut diamond? I've heard that the Radiant Star diamonds are not all they're cracked up to be. The Helzberg Masterpiece diamonds are much better cut, but they're incredibly expensive. You're better off buying a non-branded (or WF ACA branded) ideal-cut round online.
