Does anyone know any free software that I can download to help get rid of a Malware backdoor virus? I have antispy on there already but it doesn't seem to work. Help!!!

My Norton Antivirus's annual service agreement has expired, I've now purchased Norton 360 for 3 computers (I need coverage for two at least), and note it's not an insignificant bite ($70?) to keep current annually, but have seen the expense as a necessity. But, from the other recommendations on this thread...are these other products good enough for womb to tomb protection. For example, I had years earlier used McAfee and came to feel it was not up to snuff. Ira (Ruffles have Ridges) Z. |

avg is as good as any other AV product and better than some. It uses less system resources for the same level of protection as norton AV. Windows Defender is a decent anti-spyware as is spy-bot search and destroy. I run CA antivirus(The company I used too work for was a reseller so had to run it) and WD on my computer and install AVG and WD on home users computers(both free). ...........
