I am looking at a RB 1.13 H VS2 AGS 0 for 7000 at a B&M. I have seen AGS0's on here for a bit less. I have seen an AGS 0 on here that is close to 1.25 for the same money. If the color and clarity are the same can the AGS grade alone safeguard me in making a decision without seeing the stone? The 1.25 sure sounds like a lot more stone for the money.

Yes and No. Yes in the sense that they all receive AGSL's top grade for cut and are good looking diamonds. I don't think someone has yet come up with an AGS0 ugly. No in the sense that some are cut better (better symmetry) than others. Some have proportions that are preferred (personal) over others. Depends how picky you are.

This one is $7824 with the wire/pricescope discount, and it is a top quality cut. I'd want to see the details of the cert on the 1.25 that is only $7000. http://www.whiteflash.com/hearts_arrows/A-Cut-Above-H-A-cut-diamond-273569.htm

Hi. The AGS zero grade is a big help but I would still have a look at things like the depth percentage and fluorescence. You have about 4% variance in depth that can occur within the AGS zero grade so it makes sense to go with the bottom of this range to maximize size. By the way what was it's fluorescence? Sean Dunn |

I made my purchase this afternoon at Distinctive Diamonds in Indianapolis. I got an AGS0 1.13 RB VS2 H for 6750. The flouresence is neg and the stone is absolutely stunning. I am also feeling good about the price. I had to eat sales tax, but it was nice to see the stone in person. We are going back in a couple months for a custom bezel set my girlfriend has talked about wanting.
