Do you have the side view of the Danhov setting? I am leaning towards the Danhov.

The Danhov is pretty, but I don't like how the culet is exposed like that. I'm a bit paranoid when it comes to jewelry and would be worried that it could chip.

I don't see how the culet can be chipped with the bottom not exposed?

I LOVE the Danhov settings. I love the exposed culet, the bar across the stone, etc. I am leaning towards a Danhov myself. jeannie Jeannie |

Date: 7/17/2007 12:28:03 PM lol You're probably right. I do a lot of gardening and am imagining a tiny rock getting caught up in the side there!!! Author: Chrono I don't see how the culet can be chipped with the bottom not exposed?

I have the Danhov! Went through JA, and selected a beautiful J, VS2, 2.03 rb. I am in love with this ring. The Danhov looks even better in person, very delicate. I will add however, that I do not wear this ring every day. I have three stone trellis .6/1.5/.6 that I wear routinely. I don't like to ever be without a ring, and the Danhov seems more delicate to me, so I wear my three stone for every day, and the Danhov on occasion. What size stone are you looking to have? The halo setting does add some size, and that too may be part of the reason I only wear this piece on occasion. My three stone, even w/ a 1.5 center, seems more wearable for every day, but I still wouldn't trade my Danhov. I've never seen the WF in person - but the Danhov is exquisite! Hope this helps - just my thoughts!

I am looking for a halo setting to go with a 0.8ct stone and have shortlised the WF prong halo, James Allen Danhov halo plus the following settings that I've found thanks to pricescope. Which one will you choose and why?![]()

WF's version and the Lussori look very similiar. With pave, it would be a delicate ring anyway and can't take too much daily abuse - no gardening and housework with the ring on. My preference is still the Danhov.

I don't like the side view of the Danhov. It just doesn't seem to flow. Actually, I think it looks unfinished. I would like it more if the bar across the diamond also had diamonds on it, like the shank. I liked the top view but when I saw the side it ruined it for me. My choice would be the Lussori.

The Danhov is pretty. Sometimes, a RB with a halo can look like a plate, the WF has that look so a more delicate choice would be more attractive, IMO.

Have you seen this Danhov setting? I also liked the Danhov that you posted, until I saw this one. I think it is so much more delicate in my opinion, and prettier from the side. I believe the style number is ME42. You can get it through James Allen, although it is not listed on their site. http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=60426 ![]() ![]()

It's a toss-up for me. I don't like the profile of the Danhov, but I also don't like that the WF ring is prong-set. I really prefer bezel-set for a halo. What about this one? WF Halo Bezel

I prefer the WhiteFlash prong-set halo. I don't like the profile of the Danhov as well. I love the prong set halos most.

What about these prong set halo Dahnov rings? I didn't see comments on how this ones side view looks. The big difference I see is in the price on James Allen. Ouch. Halo Prong Set by Dahnov

I like the WF setting best for the size of your center stone. It's so hard to judge settings sometimes when they have huge center stones--it's an unrealistic image. I also like the prong set halo styles better in general, don't know why. The Danlov just looks a bit industrial to me, but again, magnified huge like that, it's so hard to tell what it looks like in real life. Any of these settings would be beautiful, but I'd probably go for the one that was the most durable--I want to wear my ring as much as possible!

My take on the comparision is one is traditional and the other is modern. I like both of them...but that is the way I seperate them. I wonder if that view helps you at all? ![]() DKS

Thanks I have a danhov setting (diamond from James Allen) and I love love love it. They can customize the setting to your liking if you want to change something about the side view and also make it more "deliecate" by lessening the band width or whatever. If you live in the LA area I strongly recommend going the danhov. You can go into their shop and see tone of different styles and show them what you like and dont like and have them adjust one for you or just try on the style you are already looking at.
